NYT’s Michelle Goldberg wrote a ridiculous column insisting that we shouldn’t ban late-term abortions for frivolous reasons bc no one would seek one for those reasons and it’s offensive to suggest otherwise. 1) Then why would a ban matter? 2) She’s wrong. nationalreview.com/corner/truth-a…
As @DavidAFrench points out, even studies by pro-choice groups have found most late-term abortions, while rare, are often done for reasons other than non-viability or to protect the life of the mother.
This intentionally dishonest spin that requires someone to ignore all logic and evidence can’t hide the fact that they want to eliminate all legal protections for viable fetuses up until birth (& sometimes beyond).
So absurd: “How dare you suggest we are for someone being able to murder viable babies for unconscionable reasons?? We just want to make sure it’s not against the law to do so. No one would ever take advantage of this law.”
