Hey, everyone, remember back in the day on June 4th, 2017 when that Oathkeeper from the Patriot Prayer rally physically assisted in the arrest of a protester? And the cops wrote off the incident, saying "everyday citizens assisting arrests is normal"? Well... 
This little "blue on blue issue" slip-up is probably the most rewarding part of the PPB's further text release this morning. Which is saying something, considering that Krogmann also addresses Niiya as "sir" in almost every single text, and it's e.x.c.r.u.c.i.a.t.i.n.g.
Two other texts clarify that Niiya's "Redneck Revolt" fixation--as seen in the initial text release where he literally tells Joey to look up the new PDX RR as a potential threat to him--centers around their gun ownership/use. (Also, he doesn't understand who Brown Berets are).
This seems particularly interesting given that the police allowed Patriot-Prayer affiliates to maintain their position on top of a parking garage with rifles and ammunition on August 4, 2018. And just...didn't bother telling anyone, via personal text or any other means.

Continuing on with more interesting tidbits from TextGate 2k19: Prior to a Patriot Prayer rally on October 8, 2017, Niiya informs Joey that he will likely only consider deploying additional PPB officers if counter-protesters show up...
...Livestreaming on his way to that event, Joey literally told his followers hoping to attend that they should, in the interest of peace, leave their "swastikas," "torches," and "hoods" at home. Later that day, Jay Bishop was arrested at the Patriot Prayer rally...
Bishop had a gun and knife in his motorcycle, parked by the sidewalk next to Terry Schrunk. When interviewed, he said that he came to the rally to express his support for MAX-stabbing perpetrator and fellow Patriot Prayer hanger-on, Jeremy Christian. bit.ly/2Drvg7M
While we're on this subject: In the original text release, Niiya repeatedly states that he hopes an approaching event will play out like one or two of Joey's past excursions. His...preferences?...with regard to Joey Gibson events is beyond fucked up...
At one point in 2017, Niiya states that at an upcoming event, he hopes Joey and Co. will be able to have "some conversations like at Pride," where apparently they both feel Joey made progress with "the other side." That would be...this time he went to Pride? With the Preachers?
And this last year, it seems Niiya's favorite kind of Joey event was the "show up with Proud Boys in body armor at the Occupy ICE encampment (in the middle of the night once?) to, you know, talk" kind? bit.ly/2Xf8KVI
As it is, we could play the examples game all day long. But we'd rather get down to the nuts and bolts here: "Cops and Klan, hand in hand" doesn't mean that the cops and insurgent white supremacists are identical, it means their roles and activities are often complimentary.
To both Patriot Prayer and the Portland Police Bureau, this city--and it's marginalized communities, it's progressive and radical activists specifically--are an unacceptable social contagion in need of violent containment and eradication.
PPA president Turner recently spoke out about what he sees as the police's responsibility to discipline left-wing protesters "endangering not only our officers but also peaceful protesters who are exercising their right to free speech?" And Joey Gibson is all about free speech!
"We've been so patient with you," says the cop union/Joey Gibson, as his friends in full body armor chase and beat people into the pavement in public. If it weren't for our continued lawlessness and inhumanity, they wouldn't have been forced into violence, you see?
While they may disagree on the rate and methods by which repressive social/physical power should be exerted on us, the cops and Joey and Co. share similar senses of threatened entitlement and moral/cultural superiority, plus casual white supremacist/patriarchal sadism.
So we end up with the PPB and Sergeant Niiya playing the part of "totally chill dorm RA who is required to tell you the rules but totally gets why you do what you do, you know?" to a gang of local far-right chuds, violent bigots and neo-Nazis led by an absurd demagogue.
Anyways, it's nice to have this evidence of clear ideological and practical collaboration between Patriot Prayer and the Portland Police. Especially since many people seem to be now taking all this way more seriously for...you know, very good reasons, we're sure.
Hopefully a few more folks will stop "both sides!"-ing local antifascists because of this. And it'll only have taken those folks two years, a few murders, and cops shooting someone in the head with a "non-lethal" explosive to reach this point! Fuck yeah FOIA requests, y'all.
