Defendants Michael Liberty & Paul Hess charged in connection with alleged multimillion-dollar investment fraud scheme related to tech startup Mozido

Liberty was mentioned in an email as one of a few donors who pledged $100K to help Peter Smith find Clinton's emails from hackers
In Aug 2017 Michael Liberty the founder of Mozido was sentenced to four months in prison and a $100,000 fine for making illegal campaign contributions. Peter Smith had been on the Mozido advisory board and involved with the company for years.
Other Mozido investors included hedge fund pioneer Julian Robertson, United Arab Emirates President Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan
