Oke.
Booth kita kebetulan deket banget sama stage, jadi for the whole day, we listened to the talkshows. But there was one particular part of the night that got me intensely mad...
It was the talk by Felix Siauw and Fatih Karim - who apparently had the decency to talk about their ideology about Indonesia Tanpa Feminisme… in an all-women community event. Their ideology ya. Bukan Islam's ideology. Because in its core, Islam lives & breathes feminism values.
Wanita yg mempertanyakan kenapa Allah di refer sebagai He instead of a She? Wanita yg mempertanyakan kenapa imam cuma boleh pria?
Even this definition is bull crap. Dude, no. Feminisme ga dilimit oleh tuntutan ini. It is a simple act of a group of women fighting for the rights of other women - through policy changers, protests, all for gender equality.
For women to get equal pay for doing the same job as men. For women to get equal opportunities in getting investment for their businesses. For women to be able to drive. For women to be able to voice out their opinion. For women to have choices. Because not all of us have them.
But this is not even a women-only battle. It's an all gender equality battle, to move away from stereotypes, from being boxed into the status quo. For us, human beings, to have a choice.
Rekap ulang bbrp hal yg menurut gue gak make sense dari perdebatan mrk on Indonesia Tanpa Feminisme:
Yakali??????? (3/3)
Lo pikir gampang living off a single-salary life and raising a family di Ibukota? Rezeki kan di atur Allah (2/3)
Dan itu pilihan ga sih?? Definisi raising & nurturing a family bisa beda: ada yg memilih utk jadi stay at home mom, ada yg milih utk jadi wanita karir to help secure a better life for the family. Beda, tapi niatnya sama-sama utk keberlangsungan hidup keluarga, terutama anak (3/3)
4. "Feminisme mencaci maki Quran"….. What hate lens are you wearing to see the world in such limiting way?? Ha??? Islam sendiri yang justru mengenalkan kita ke wanita-wanita kuat yg menurut gue meng-represent konsep feminism - Khadijah, Fatima, Maryam, Asiyah, Aisyah (1/3)
All these women are the women of Jannah or paradise, but they also play a role as a daughter, a mother, a wife. But also an entrepreneur, a troop leader, a scholar, a prodigy, an activist even (2/3)
Who is to say we can't extend these roles into the modern day occupations like doctors, scientist, engineers, football players, data scientists, architects, designers, writers, consultants, policy makers, COUNTRY LEADERS EVEN (3/3)
Menurut gua dunia ini abu-abu. Gausa punya pandangan yg binary, seakan-akan kalau mendukung feminism lo bukan Muslim yang taat, ato kalo lo Muslim yang taat lo pasti menolak femisim
Kita-kita yang ditengah-tengah ini gimana? Yg Muslim. Yg berusaha menjalankan kewajiban agama. Yg kadang inget, kadang lupa sunnah. Yg juga mau hidup layak secara duniawi. Yg mau menuntut hak asasi manusia, dan ingin dipandang as equals. Not necessarily the same. Equals.
W juga bukan feminist garis keras, gue hanya seorang wanita karir yg mau best of both worlds: deen but also dunya, a great career also a loving family, menganut the role and values of a Khadijah in a modern world setting, InsyaAllah
If anyone would like to share the Islam perspective on this please do so, karena w juga bukan scholar, just an average learner, but this idea of anti-feminism via the Islamic label just doesn't seem right.
All I can say is that if we don't learn to open our hearts, we'll never be able to open our minds. Sekian.
Sebelum lupa ok bye:
