Horwath: We’re joined today by families from #Kashechewan, who are being evacuated—once again—from their homes following flooding. Ford admitted “once a century” floods are now happening regularly. So why is he cutting services like a 50% cut to Ministry of Indigenous Affairs?

Horwath: Ford's Budget also scrapped the “50 Million Tree” project that mitigated flood risk while fighting climate change. Ford is willing to spend millions helping Andrew Scheer with campaign stickers on every gas pump but can’t find funds to protect people from flooding?

NDP MPP @BourgouinGuy: This govt has rightfully issued a rapid response to flooding threats in Eastern Ontario, yet has failed to secure a prompt solution to #Kashechewan. Will this govt commit to expediting the land transfer so that the relocation can begin quickly? #FNpoli

Bourgouin: The March 31st, 2017 tripartite Framework Agreement stipulates that both provincial & federal govt engage in short, mid, and long-term solutions for #Kashechewan. Including relocating the community to higher and safer grounds. Will you honour the agreement? #onpoli

.@solmamakwa: In 2005, more than 800 #Kashechewan residents had to be evacuated due to E. coli contamination of the water supply. Many of the homes are full of mould due to flooding and trapped moisture.

Horwath: Ford called Global News Radio saying: “If anyone needs support on legal aid feel free to call my office, I will guarantee you, that you will have legal aid.” Will @C_Mulroney repeat his words: That anyone who contacts Ford will be guaranteed legal aid coverage? #onpoli

Horwath: It sounds like even Ford is embarrassed by the cuts he’s proposing. But these cuts are real and they won’t go away just because he pulls over to call in to a radio show with threats and empty promises. #onpoli

Horwath: Will the Attorney General @C_Mulroney admit today that the cuts to Legal Aid will leave people without legal coverage and that Ford was wrong to offer a guarantee he had no intention of honouring? #onpoli
