NDP Leader @AndreaHorwath: On Friday, the Ford govt announced Grants For Student Needs cuts, and school boards are confirming what we already knew: Larger class sizes, fewer teachers and fewer courses available for students. #onpoli #onpoli
Horwath: The TDSB says they’re facing a multi-million dollar shortfall. In Peel course options lost. Toronto Catholic Board Chair says they’re losing $655,000 in grants and eliminating 95 jobs for at-risk youth.
These are very real cuts affecting Ontario students. #onpoli
Horwath: Ford's Education Minister keeps denying it, but no one believes her anymore: The Ford Government is making cuts to classrooms and our students are paying the price. #onpoli #onted #studentssayno
Horwath: Last week staff informed students at Cawthra Park Secondary School in Mississauga that they would have to reselect their courses for their graduating year and might have to take summer school or night school to pick up electives in order to graduate. #onpoli #onted
Horwath: Doug Ford can’t stick his head in the sand and claim that students are fearmongering. These cuts are real and they’re hurting students & their futures. Will the Education Minister stand up to Ford, stand up for students and demand these cuts be reversed? #onpoli #onted
Horwath: On Friday, Ford travelled to #Ottawa where he made the admission: Climate change is real & contributing to the flooding across Ontario. If Ford believes that, why has he slashed funding to conservation authorities for flood management programs by half? #onpoli
Horwath: I know Ford saw what I saw when I travelled to Ottawa this weekend:
thousands of volunteers scrambling to hold back rising water; heartbreaking losses to homes and businesses; damage and devastation. #onpoli #OttawaFloods
Horwath: We’re joined today by families from #Kashechewan, who are being evacuated—once again—from their homes following flooding. Ford admitted “once a century” floods are now happening regularly. So why is he cutting services like a 50% cut to Ministry of Indigenous Affairs?
Horwath: Ford's Budget also scrapped the “50 Million Tree” project that mitigated flood risk while fighting climate change. Ford is willing to spend millions helping Andrew Scheer with campaign stickers on every gas pump but can’t find funds to protect people from flooding?
NDP MPP @BourgouinGuy: This govt has rightfully issued a rapid response to flooding threats in Eastern Ontario, yet has failed to secure a prompt solution to #Kashechewan. Will this govt commit to expediting the land transfer so that the relocation can begin quickly? #FNpoli
Bourgouin: The March 31st, 2017 tripartite Framework Agreement stipulates that both provincial & federal govt engage in short, mid, and long-term solutions for #Kashechewan. Including relocating the community to higher and safer grounds. Will you honour the agreement? #onpoli
NDP MPP @solmamakwa: The March 2017 agreement is entitled "Together We Work for Hope." But I am not hearing hope from #Kashechewan community members who travelled here today. Will this govt honour the 2017 agreement and move forward with relocation? #Onpoli #FNpoli
.@solmamakwa: In 2005, more than 800 #Kashechewan residents had to be evacuated due to E. coli contamination of the water supply. Many of the homes are full of mould due to flooding and trapped moisture.
There is no more time to waste to fix these health issues. #onpoli #FNpoli
.@solmamakwa: The provincial govt has a role to provide health care to the community through Treaty 9 and the 2017 agreement. What specific actions will the government take to protect the health of the #Kashechewan community in the face of these floods? #onpoli #FNpoli
Horwath: Ford called Global News Radio saying: “If anyone needs support on legal aid feel free to call my office, I will guarantee you, that you will have legal aid.” Will @C_Mulroney repeat his words: That anyone who contacts Ford will be guaranteed legal aid coverage? #onpoli
(Challenged to repeat Ford's guarantee that anyone who contacts him will have legal aid, the Attorney General Caroline Mulroney refuses to repeat Ford's very public guarantee.) #onpoli
Horwath: It sounds like even Ford is embarrassed by the cuts he’s proposing. But these cuts are real and they won’t go away just because he pulls over to call in to a radio show with threats and empty promises. #onpoli
Horwath: Will the Attorney General @C_Mulroney admit today that the cuts to Legal Aid will leave people without legal coverage and that Ford was wrong to offer a guarantee he had no intention of honouring? #onpoli

Confused by how Ford's words don't line up with his actions?

It shouldn't be up to Ontarians to read between the lines. You deserve a transparent government whose words turn to action.

Until then, the Doug Ford Language school is here to help.
Ford-ism: I'll give it everything I've got.

English: I'll find someone to blame instead of take action.
Ford-ism: I'll be on landlords evicting tenants like an 800lb gorilla.

English: I'll make it easier for landlords to evict tenants while also refusing to provide rent relief.

A timeline of Merrilee Fullerton, Doug Ford’s Minister of Long-Term Care, downplaying how many seniors are getting sick and dying in long-term care, playing a callous numbers game to avoid having to spend money to hire staff and implement infection control measures. 1/6
On Sept. 22, there were 58 resident cases:
“Ninety-nine per cent of our long-term-care homes have no resident cases.” - Merrilee Fullerton 2/6

Today, the courts ruled against Doug Ford’s cut to OHIP coverage for Ontarians when they’re travelling.
This makes SEVEN court battles lost by Doug Ford and his PC govt, wasting precious public dollars defending his cutting agenda. #onpoli

There’s a lot to unpack here, first of all, the ‘free market’ would not have the business opportunity to operate COVID-19 tests at a high price if the gov’t was on top of testing – but they’re leaving people behind.
Everyday Ontarians are waiting hours in line to get their COVID-19 test. While the gov’t has been saying for months that “they’re hammering away at testing” but experts disagree: ontariondp.ca/news/fact-chec…
If testing was as easy and accessible as it should be with a public health system, there would not be a market for $400 testing kits for those that can afford it. Demand the gov’t invest in testing now: ontariondp.ca/demand-covid-1…
