1. Something I don’t understand: when we try cases, the “order of call” is enormously consequential. You want your strongest witnesses up front because the jury forms perceptions of your case - of the truth of what happened - through the testimony of each witness as they testify.
2. So you put weaker/more problematic witnesses toward the end of your case so the jury is less likely to be turned off to your case by the weaker witnesses. In other words, you want the jury to evaluate the weaker witnesses through the prism of what they learned ...
3. From the stronger witnesses. Now, we already know Barr is a liar who is determind to protect the president at all costs. We just saw that when he appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Why in the world is the House interested in hearing the same lies from Barr?
4. Sure, pursue contempt if you want, but have Mueller testify NOW, have McGahn testify NOW, have every witness that can prove Trump’s many obstruction of justice crimes NOW. Seize the narrative rather than continuing to give the liars a platform to spew their disinformation.
