The greatest danger to socialism/Marxism is a growing economy with increasing wages for the workers. Increasing wages stops the workers from sliding into the proletariat(poor, lower middle class, ) while expanding the bourgeois(middle class, upper middle class) to act as a
"buffer" and counterforce to the proletariat. Increasing wages also decreases the wealth owned by the few, narrowing the wealth gap.

Now, knowing this, revisit the polices of the last 30 odd years that were designed to drive down wages.
Things like "free trade", open borders, unlimited immigration, regulations, tax rates, military adventures, debt spending, foreign aid, death tax, great society programs, obamacare" all have the effect of decreasing the middle class & increasing the poor and lower middle class.
Many people think that's a side effect of those polices, but it's not a bug; its a feature. Its a direct effect of human nature reacting to the polices put in place for decades to destroy the middle class.
Now ask yourself, who benefits the most from the destruction of the middle class? The rich? Or the poor? Which side gets bigger in numbers? Which side gains more political power? Both?

If anyone is still wondering why the establishment and the left are freaking out, attempting
.. coups against Trump, &generally attacking every one of his policies that if implemented would have the direct effect of increaseing wages among Americans & expanding the middle class, the above discussion is your answer. They don't want increased wages, they don't want a...
.. middle class. What the powers that be want is a return to the time when a few ruled and the rest were serfs. When the few selected who was and was not entitled to positions of power. The only thing the establishment have been fighting over for several decades is who gets..
...the titles of nobility when the middle class is finally vanquished. The wealthy are happy with the polices because it means more power for them. The left are happy with the policies because it means more power to them. The middle class are pissed at the polices but are...
...unable to unite because both the left and wealthy continue to push smaller issues/policies that divide and distract the middle class. Instead of talking about trade policy, we talk about unisex bathrooms. Instead of talking about immigration, we talk about WMD/Iraq.
Then Trump comes on the scene and talks about trade, about immigration, about military adventures, regulations, tax rates, Obamacare and implements polices to grow the middle class. You know talking and doing the stuff that the middle class cares about.
No wonder the establishment and left are freaking out. Every second the tariffs are in place, every second the tax cuts are in place, every second we aren't fighting some new war, every second people are getting jobs and bigger paychecks means the middle class is growing and...
.....those titles of nobility are getting farther away from reality for both groups. Freedom and individual liberty can only be sustained with a robust and growing middle class and whatever cost is needed to be paid for that growth is cheap in comparison to the alternative.
