The thing about being consistent in your beliefs is, it seems into everything. My Hard Wired Island rules are famously socialist. Would you believe a lot of that interaction was initially accidental?
It's like how, once you realize ADnD was written by a born again (And then Witness) literal card-carrying member of the Libertarian Party, a lot of things baked into the rules make a *ton* more sense. And I bet most of it was unconscious.
It's like how a cis person writing about gender will *absolutely understand* that "being" the "wrong gender" is in fact a CURSE they assume anyone would want to get rid of. They get it! When they're not thinking about Trans people!
These unconscious ideas seep into our writing and one aspect of literary theory is becoming aware of them-in fact hello, Postmodernism! But it's always funny when these happy little accidents happen.
And it's funny but it coming out that an overt "race realist" was writing DnD since the 2000s has made me want to redeem the hobby more. Usually I feel discouraged. It's support that is changing my mind. We need to challenge what is there. We need idea diversity more than ever.
And yes I still want to do a thesis on the girdle of masc/fem in the form of a multipart adventure for a party of 4-6 people from levels 4 to 8
Have you written for the DMs Guild? Are you allowed to use Forgotten Realms trademarks, and if so, how? Hit me up.
There will be *extensive shenanigans* in an *evil stronghold* full of people *cursed by their boss* and some might *become your friends*
