In the previous two threads in this series, I wrote about events in which Michael Ledeen served as an intermediary between the Reagan administration and the center-left governments of Italy and Israel.
Ledeen seems an odd choice to have connections to left wing governments.
Though he is often called a ‘neoconservative,’ the label doesn’t really fit.
Ledeen was never a liberal, but he’s not truly a conversative either.
From my reading of his work, I would call his political viewpoint ‘revolutionary facism.’
I suppose some would argue that’s what neoconservative is in practice. And there’s no doubt that Ledeen keeps company with many neocons, but he’s more interesting than them.
He’s also more disturbing.
Ledeen was part of the psyop and propaganda programs in the Reagan administration.
The programs were run out of the National Security Council (NSC) under Reagan and not so much the CIA.

Ledeen’s role was to influence Socialist and Social Democratic parties in Europe to support US foreign policy objectives.

After simply googling “Michael Ledeen” and “Matteo Renzi,” I discovered dozens of articles and blog entries about the connection between the two men.
Plus, there is Ledeen’s history of alleged involvement with the infamous P2 Masonic Lodge.
There’s no dispute that Ledeen and Renzi were close at one point. In 2007, Ledeen called Renzi a “friend” in a piece he wrote for National Review.

Ledeen was positively gushing over Renzi in the Weekly Standard after he was elected Prime Minister in 2014..

The most thorough English-language source for information on Renzi is this article from the New Yorker.

The very title, “The Demolition Man,” is a clue to why Ledeen would find Renzi appealing.
Ledeen loves chaos and destruction as much as the Joker in The Dark Night.
There is no denying that Carria has close business ties to Israel, particularly in the area of cyber-security.

Carrai and Ledeen are close enough friends that Ledeen attended Carrai’s wedding in Italy.

I snagged it from the website of Manlio Di Stefano, an Italian government official and politician.

M5S is a political organization that claims to be neither right nor left. Post-ideological.
The party definitely leans populist and anti-establishment.
In 2016, Israel’s ambassador to Italy was Naor Gilon. He’s no fan of the M5S.

Obviously any mention of Link University immediately brings George Papadopolous to mind.
It was due to Caratzas’ largesse that PapaD was offered a position with the Hudson Institute.
He donate $100,000 to the Institute for PapaD to promote an energy alliance between Greece, Cyprus, and Israel.
Cartzas died in June, 2016. His obituary in the National Herald claims he was suspected of spying for the US and Israel.

I could find no additional information about Caratzas in English concerning the spying allegation.
Hopefully this thread raised some questions in your mind.
