Did you know you can recreate many Roman-style typefaces using nothing but intersecting circular arc segments and a few straight lines?
This is the alphabet of architect Sebastiano Serlio (1475-1554) who is credited with bringing ancient Roman architectural styles to France. The order of this can't help but make you feel good.
The inscription from the bottom of Trajan's Column, in particular its ratios and geometry, has inspired so many modern typefaces and fonts (Romans didn't use lower-case letters).

Such beautiful geometry… all cut by hand!
Next time someone says "I don't see how math applies to my life" just point to LITERALLY ANYTHING TYPED (with the exception of everything that uses Papyrus, which is an abomination to both math and good taste)
