Ella Fitzgerald was an American jazz singer sometimes referred to as the First Lady of Song, Queen of Jazz, and Lady Ella.
"In 1958, Fitzgerald made history as the first African-American woman to win a Grammy Award. Due in no small part to her vocal quality, with lucid intonation and a broad range, the singer would go on to win 13 Grammys in total and sell more than 40 million albums."
Jazz artists will be the theme of the next series.

More than 4 million enslaved Africans were brought to Brazil, 40% of the total number of slaves brought to the Americas.

The fact that so many people (even Brazilians) don’t know or think about this is what encouraged me to work on this series.
Brazil was built by these men and women - the millions who were subjected to severe violence and humiliation, and that today are not even remembered.
My work is a tool and I want to use it for good. Thankfully I have an audience following what I do, which I value and respect so much, and which gives me the opportunity to be heard. If I can contribute and give you something new to think about, I’m satisfied.

Prolog:
Um ein Gen zu editieren, muss es natürlich bekannt sein. D.h. wir brauchen mindstens seine Sequenz. In der Forschung wir CRISPR dann sehr häufig angewandt, um das Gen auszuschalten und so mehr über seine Funktion zu erfahren.
Das ist in etwa so, wie wenn man zu Hause eine unbeschriftete Sicherung hat, diese ausschaltet und dann guckt, wo in der Wohnung das Licht nicht mehr geht.

Wenn man dagegen gezielt eine Eigenschaft verändern möchte, sollte man natürlich auch die Funktion des Gens schon kennen.

"Forty." Chaeyoung says. "I'm taking care of another hospital and they are in desperate need of donations."

The doctor nods. "Right. I understand." Without a single reason to doubt her, he passes her the papers. "Please sign here, Dr. Son."
Chaeyoung had lied countless times before, but back then it was to feed her most treasured friends.

Now, she was preparing for battle. She figured ten blood bags for each vamp was enough in case they got injured in the fight.

She had no idea what she was doing.
Her hands tremble as she signs and the doctor notices. "Rough day?"

"Rough month." Chaeyoung replies, then plays it off. "I just had too much coffee earlier."

The doctor laughs. "Oh, I know the feeling. Even heroes need their coffee, huh?"

Heroes. She didn't feel like one.

This was rare and very weird.

"Eat." Jihyo says as she tosses the body to Sana.

Sana just looks at her, confused. "For me?"

"Did I stutter?" Jihyo flinches, almost imperceptibly. She turns to Momo. "You stay here. I'm going to meditate. Do not bother me."

Momo only nods.
As soon as they can't hear Jihyo's steps anymore, Momo and Sana exchange gazes.

"She hunted for me." Sana looks at the body by her feet. It was a tall, muscular man, with enough blood for a nice feast. "A good one, too."

Momo sits by her side. "Feels like a last meal."
Sana feels all strength draining from her body. "So that's what this is."

Momo puts a hand on her shoulder. "I was joking."

"But you're probably right." Sana groans. "I think I fucked it all up."

"You didn't." Momo insists. "And if you did, I'll protect you."

Very powerful men asking Jack if they can experiment because they know he’s openly gay and they’re curious/not allowed to be open.

Jack low key getting off at this perceived prowess he has. Also nice to have a grocery list of the most powerful men in the world as ex partners.
He doesn’t like to keep physical evidence of his trysts but he does keep souvenirs.

He’s gotten a president of France multiple times, a Russian diplomat and someone else he’s not allowed to name.

Two American presidents, four Vice Presidents, and half of the PMs in the EU.
He keeps his tryst souvenirs in a box in his socket drawer. Pins, tickets, anything that gives him a reminder than he has touched a human being at some point in his life.

He doesn’t have the time to date anyone, this will have to do.

But it’s exhausting.
