Kumara Kampana, a prince in 14th century Vijayanagara empire defeated Madurai Sultanate & liberated Hindus from muslim rule. Thus he also reopened the doors of Meenakshi temple. His wife Gangadevi, documented this in her Samskrit epic poem 'Madhura Vijayam'. (1/4) #ReclaimTemples
After conquering Kanchi, a complacent Kumara Kampana was visited by a strange lady who narrates condition of temples & Hindus under Muslim rule in Madurai. She tells that temples of srirangam et al are deserted and occupied by jackals, and temples are ready to collapse with (2/4)
no maintenance. The city of Madurai which was once beautifully adorned by coconut trees is now filled with poles full of decapitated heads of Hindus. Then she (later we know that she's Nagara devata of Madurai) offers Kampana a divine sword & calls for liberation of Hindus. (3/4)
We Hindus must never forget the courage of our ancestors who always refused to surrender & never stopped the fight. First step is to know about them, then to unite & act, then comes the fruit i.e our Civilization's past glory. (4/4)

Today is the jayanthi of Pujyashri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Mahaswamigal🙏(1894-1994), the 68th Shankaracharya of Kanchi. Jagadguru became matadhipathi at a young age of 13 in 1907. He set out from Kumbhakonam in 1919 on a 'Vijaya Yatra.' (1)
It lasted 20 long years covering most of South India & many sacred cities in North. During this, Paramacharya began his journey in a palanquin but soon gave it up & covered 5,000 km from Rameswaram to Kasi on foot in a journey lasting for 21 years. (2)
During Vijaya yatra he undertook at the age of 84, Paramacharya toured Bharatavarsha on foot covering 25 km a day, sleeping on bare ground with just sky as the roof. It includes crossing the 3 km long Pamban rail bridge which connects Rameswaram to mainland. (3)
THREAD on Sri Ahilya bai Holkar🙏:
She had offered to do sati on the death of her husband but had been persuaded from the extreme sacrifice by her grief stricken father-in-law. She combined talent, virtue & energy which made her a blessing to the country over which she ruled. (1)
Queen Ahilya bai took upon herself the direct management of affairs & sat everyday for a considerable time in open durbar, transacting business. When appeals were made to her decision, she heard every complaint in person with great patience. (2)
Her capital, Indore, under her fostering care, from a village, it developed into a prosperous city and wealthy mart for malwa products. The fond object of her life was to promote the prosperity of all around her. She rejoiced when she saw farmers etc rise to affluence. (3)
I have converted my leftist friend in support of #CAB. They are just highly ignorant of facts. Opposition has succeeded in spreading paranoia among them. Let's face it with light of truth. Debate them, don't troll. #IndiaSupportsCAB#CABPassed
Friend: Why make muslims secondary class citizens?
Me: #CAB is in no way related to Indian muslims. It just gives citizenship to religious minorities of neighbouring Islamic republics. (1)
Friend: What about Rohingya or Lanka Tamils?
Me: They are waging violent secessionist movement against Myanmar & SriLanka. There's a political angle to it. Moreover these countries aren't partitioned from India based on religion. Also Rohingyas have Bangladesh to go. (2)
