A simple plea...
No matter which party you support or how strong your views are, could you please stop with the "if you voted for party X you voted for people to DIE" nonsense?

Because it is nonsense. People, in large numbers, are not that evil. If they were, society would end.
Feel like making a facetious quip? Bite your lip, please. It was a very serious point.

There is enough anger in politics already without stoking it via absurd hyperbole.
No party in the UK, not even the [fill in the name of the party you hate the most] has murder as a deliberate, calculated policy. Do you know how daft that sounds?

And if they don't, their voters *definitely* don't.

Type it one letter at a time, but stop as soon as it shows up in the list of search suggestions.

Then tell me how much you had to type and what position it shows up in.
(I'm asking because I've tried on 3 different browsers and got 3 different results. I think it's based on if I searched for it in the past on that browser or not, and if I'm logged in or not. Amazon's algorithm is a bit of a mystery. Thanks!)
Thanks everyone! So it looks like it shows up 5-7 with "slay" and 1 with "slayi". Really appreciate all the help, and the very very quick response. (It shows up 1 with "slay" in the browser I already visited the book landing page with before.)

Here's Jo Swinson's problem (as I see it): she doesn't want to go into coalition with Corbyn. She might with someone much less radical and much more pro Remain (eg Keir Starmer). But not Corbyn. However, she was accused before of trying to dictate what Labour should do.
So she is now sensibly trying to steer away from venturing beyond not propping up a Corbyn government.

But the lazy media are conflating her remarks about "Labour under Jeremy Corbyn" with remarks about Labour *in general*.

Basically she's a bit stuck on this.
Note: for what it's worth, I believe she's right. The LibDems shouldn't go into coalition with a Corbyn-led government. That's not to say they can't back individual policies one-by-one, eg a second referendum. But not in a formal coalition.

If Labour changes, the story does too.

Healthy to see that BBC News seem to be carrying the LibDem campaign launch in full, including a long Q&A session.

And yes, I did jinx it.

More accurately, Jeremy Corbyn did. He started a speech, and the BBC cut straight to it.
Sky News, on the other hand, has stayed with the LibDems until the session end.

Can we please stop pretending that claiming things like science, maths and literacy are white people things is not only historically inaccurate but also racist?
Literacy and the lack thereof has always been a class issue, not a racial one. Why does so much of allegedly anti-colonial rhetoric credit white westerners with the invention of everything when history strongly suggests they were mostly farming & fighting until the modern period?
This is another example of the way in which a lot of Social Justice scholarship perpetuates orientalist narratives. "Orientalism" is the term coined by Edward Said for the construction of the East as superstitious, anti-rational & primitive by westerners. (SocJus is western, ofc)

Americans are once again allowing the Republican and Democrat party divide us over race, when in fact race is not the issue! Please look at the foreign policies these woman support, and the policies they do not support! This is not about race & we must address the real issues!

I ask for Americans to please look at the human policies these woman are addressing. I ask Americans to actually research the US Foreign Policy that causes massive Refugees and Endless War.
I ask Americans to look at who is funding the election campaigns of their representatives. I ask Americans to question why we are continously at war, when it does not benefit the United States! I ask Americans to research the foreign influence that controls US policy!

The key was a #video explaining the benefits of pruning.

She needs REASONS. She got them.

Apparently, pruning in a particular manner stimulates growth hormones.

Cool to see stuff I work on being mentioned here, but I do hope people recognise that this stuff comes at a very real cost.
It's easy to build a community that is nice and friendly - just act fuzzy & ensure you never take a clear stance on anything. Very YouTube.
But being actually thoughtful & inclusive requires that you get your hands dirty - and because so few do it, this usually makes you a target
