Learned something about emojis today. I honestly didn't know you could press down on an emoji and get a pop-up window with more options. Thanks to those who pointed it out, as frankly I'd been wondering for a long time why all the emojis looked white. I feel like a big idiot now.
PS/ I'd call it a "senior moment," but I'm only 43, and frankly I'm guessing lots of people older than me had already figured out how emojis his work. I just don't use them very often. I promise to use them correctly in the future! Thanks again for those who pointed out my error.
PS2/ I think "ok boomer" is hilarious, but just want to make sure everyone knows I'm Gen X by a lot (not proud, just sayin')

(THREAD) The Trump-Ukraine scandal is a NATIONAL SECURITY scandal—and media's failure to explain this to America is hindering the scandal being treated as the national security emergency it is. This isn't about Biden or one call; it's much bigger. I hope you'll read on and share.
1/ First, the background: every president has a foreign policy, a process for taking in intel, a temperament that makes handling/avoiding certain types of conflict more likely, and a disposition toward the U.S. intel community. Trump's is historically dangerous, even treacherous.
2/ The Trump campaign's Russia policy was underwritten by Putin "friend" Dmitri Simes—who now works for the Kremlin for $500K/yr (look it up). His Saudi/UAE policy was directed by three Saudi agents: Nader, Prince, al-Otaiba. Israel's ambassador—Dermer—directed his Israel policy.

Message to Biden and Buttigieg: it's fine to critique her policies, but if you're armchair-quarterbacking Warren being angry at this moment in history (especially as one of you is talking about "beating Trump like a drum"), consider that that's some gendered bullsh*t right there.
1/ Pete has every right to criticize other candidates for being angry, because that's not the road he's taking or his philosophy, but the angriest-sounding person in the race is Joe Biden, and that's by far, and if Pete is implying it's Warren he needs to take a deep look inside.
2/ My view is, any candidate trying their hardest *not to seem angry* at this moment in history is going to seem a little false/detached to me, and any 70-something man yelling violent tropes is turning me off 100%, whether it's Trump or Biden. Joe needs to become himself again.

I just saw Harry Enten on TV saying how important general election polls are a year out from Election Day. Of course, they only seem to be important now that a moderate (Biden) is doing well in them. In 2015, Enten told Sanders supporters it was too early to look at such polling.
PS/ As with any candidate, people supported Sanders for many different reasons. Some were persuaded by polls indicating Sanders would run strongest against Trump. Such folks were told they were fools for looking at early polling. The same analysts now say Biden's polling matters.
PS2/ My point: analysts like Enten largely decide which outcome they consider most *likely* (which is whatever the safest play would be if you were in Vegas) and then they emphasize the polls that point toward that result. And then, worst of all, they're unbearably smug about it.

So, I did the obvious thing and grabbed you out of his arms and kicked him out!’ V signed a bit too smugly. He means, it felt good, okay? The Alpha was all over his best friend. He had full rights to be a bit overprotective of his pack mate

About 10,000 older people: Hypocrites! We won't listen to anyone who isn't living in a barrel, with no clothes or possessions, and living on nothing but murky water.
I'm told there's already a name for this: the Tu Quoque Fallacy. Thanks to those who pointed that out.
And if you do live in a barrel, with no clothes or possessions, subsisting only on murky water, we'll dismiss you as a weirdo, and won't listen to you either.

Today is National Aboriginal Veterans Day. This is my Grandpa’s service medal given to him by our community. Today we think of those that fought for this country though this country never fought for them. Sing songs for our Veterans today.
My Grandpa, Gerald Bruyere, came from a long line of Ogitchiidag from Couchiching FN. Many of his brothers, uncles, cousins, and friends served this country.
It’s well-documented that when Indigenous Veterans return from their service they did not receive the same supports and services that non-Indigenous Veterans received. When Indians returned from their service the country turned their back on them and sent them back to the Rez.
