Official Opposition leader @AndreaHorwath: For months Ford picked a fight with teachers and ignored the concerns of parents & students opposed to his classroom cuts. Now that we’re on the verge of school closures is Ford ready to show some leadership & reverse his reckless cuts?
@AndreaHorwath Horwath: What parents see:
• a Premier who spent months calling teachers “thugs”
• a Minister of Education who literally delayed bargaining so he could hold a press conference about the lack of bargaining.
• a govt still defending classroom cuts. #onted#onpoli
@AndreaHorwath Horwath: For months Ford insisted he was on the side of parents and he claimed they supported the cuts that now threaten to close schools all over Ontario. Why would he say that when he knew his own consultation showed the opposite? #onpoli#onted
@AndreaHorwath Horwath: Instead of working to reach a deal that will improve education, Ford’s been making cuts, picking fights, & pretending that parents don’t care about cuts.
When will he stop defending his cuts and start working with teachers to reach a deal that works for students?
@AndreaHorwath Horwath: At a time when families desperately need a Premier who will work on the national stage to build a #Pharmacare program, why is Ford trying to undermine any effort to do so? #onpoli#onhealth
@AndreaHorwath Horwath: Ontarians have already seen their health care system slashed by this govt & now Ford is attacking a national #Pharmacare plan that can deliver real relief. Why is Ford trying to torpedo prescription drug coverage, right when Ontarians need it the most? #onpoli#onhealth
@AndreaHorwath NDP Education critic @maritstiles: Will the Education Minister finally do the right thing, take these unreasonable cuts off the table, and stop these attacks on our kids' future? #onted#onpoli
@AndreaHorwath@maritstiles NDP MPP @shaw_sandy: Since news of Cootes Paradise contamination I have:
• asked questions here about when this govt learned of the spill
• wrote a letter requesting full disclosure
• filed FOI
What I have gotten back from this govt is silence or attempts to shift blame.
@AndreaHorwath@maritstiles@shaw_sandy Shaw: People deserve straight answers. But this govt's attempt to wash their hands of their responsibility in all this is appalling. People of #HamOnt are looking for accountability. Will the minister come clean, apologize & release the results of the investigation publicly?

A timeline of Merrilee Fullerton, Doug Ford’s Minister of Long-Term Care, downplaying how many seniors are getting sick and dying in long-term care, playing a callous numbers game to avoid having to spend money to hire staff and implement infection control measures. 1/6
On Sept. 22, there were 58 resident cases:

Premier Doug Ford and Health Minister Christine Elliott lied when they said their decision to cancel many public health protections was based on expert advice.
A TIMELINE OF LIES brought to you by Doug Ford's Conservative government:
Doug Ford, Nov. 3: “This framework was developed in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, the Public Health Measures Table, local medical officers of health, and other health system experts.” #FordLied#Covid19#Covid19Ontario
FACT CHECK TIMELINE: As Ontario reaches yet another record high number of new #COVID19 cases, Doug Ford needs to explain why he and his govt have been minimizing the impact of COVID’s second wave on Ontario families, and cutting back on public health measures...

October 6 — 548 new COVID-19 cases reported in Ontario.
Today, the courts ruled against Doug Ford’s cut to OHIP coverage for Ontarians when they’re travelling.
This makes SEVEN court battles lost by Doug Ford and his PC govt, wasting precious public dollars defending his cutting agenda. #onpoli
There’s a lot to unpack here, first of all, the ‘free market’ would not have the business opportunity to operate COVID-19 tests at a high price if the gov’t was on top of testing – but they’re leaving people behind.
Everyday Ontarians are waiting hours in line to get their COVID-19 test. While the gov’t has been saying for months that “they’re hammering away at testing” but experts disagree: ontariondp.ca/news/fact-chec…
If testing was as easy and accessible as it should be with a public health system, there would not be a market for $400 testing kits for those that can afford it. Demand the gov’t invest in testing now: ontariondp.ca/demand-covid-1…
