Y’all, I have never seen this show “Manifest”, but they’re rebroadcasting the pilot right now, and I am HOOKED on this premise.
Large family splits up on two flights going home from vacation in 2013. One of the flights hits heavy turbulence and almost crashes. It lands at an airport to police and emergency vehicles, where they’re told it’s 2018 and they’ve been missing for five years. 😮
I will never complain about air travel again.
Nevermind. I’m on the third episode, and this show is garbage. Forget it.

My childhood abuse caught up to me in 2011 in a bad way. My coping strategy up to that point was denying all that happened and pushing it as far down deep as it would go. This did not work. If anything, it compounded the eventual mental collapse.
I was hospitalized that year for suicidal ideation, where I told a mental health professional, for the first time, that I had been raped as a child. I felt like a failure. I felt as though I hadn't tried hard enough to endure. I felt beyond humiliated. It felt like a mistake.

Hey folks, I have one final ask of the year, and after this, I promise to shut up until next decade. My good friend @SarahEMcBride is running an historic campaign to become the first trans person elected to a state senate anywhere in our country. (quick thread)
The fundraising deadline for this quarter is obviously tonight, and it's the most crucial, so far. If Sarah can raise enough money, it would show her district that she's the overwhelming favorite to win this thing, including folks who don't believe a trans person is "electable".
Sarah made history at the Democratic National Convention in 2016, becoming the first openly trans person to speak at a major party convention. She has been a stalwart and effective advocate for equality, spearheading successful campaigns to pass anti-discrimination bills.

A new decade starts in less than 48 hours.

I did the math. By the end of this new decade, I'll have been out of the closet for almost as long as I was in the closet in my adult life. But not quite.

A difference of 16 days between the two. 16 days.

That's a sobering thought.
I wish I could adequately articulate why this is significant. Try to imagine all the learning, the lessons, the struggle, the heartbreak between ages 18 and 30. Most adults do that in their own authentic skin. Coming out is a whole relearning and mourning the time that's gone.
I do my best to avoid hovering over this kind of introspection. It's a bit unnecessary and doesn't lead to much healing. But I think pointing it out here is important to understand why validating trans kids, esp. teenagers, is critical. Don't force them to wait to start learning.

Baekhyun is a laid back easy-going person living his life 1 day at a time, where as Chanyeol has every day until the next year already planned.

The guy was 13 minutes late was all that Chanyeol could think of when he continued wiping the already clean screen of his wrist watch.

He had only placed aside an hour for this meeting and 13mins were already wasted this meant that he'd have to push back a few things.

Now that we're post-Labor Day, the real 2018 election push is underway...here's a primer thread for those who want real instead of partisan tribalism these final 60 days.
1) No, the polls were not wrong in 2016. In fact, the RCP national average almost nailed the final popular vote. Plus, most of the battleground state polls were within MOE. The polls performed pretty well in 2016.
2) Who got it way wrong in 2016 were election forecasters that predicted what the polling data meant. Largely, they assumed Hillary's organizational edge would win these MOE states like Obama did in 2012. Except she was far more disliked than Obama.

Why not just go speak to the Grand Jury? Clearly, it's not about avoiding spending more time talking about the investigation and your experience...

He can't help himself..
