Hey folks, I have one final ask of the year, and after this, I promise to shut up until next decade. My good friend @SarahEMcBride is running an historic campaign to become the first trans person elected to a state senate anywhere in our country. (quick thread)
The fundraising deadline for this quarter is obviously tonight, and it's the most crucial, so far. If Sarah can raise enough money, it would show her district that she's the overwhelming favorite to win this thing, including folks who don't believe a trans person is "electable".
Sarah made history at the Democratic National Convention in 2016, becoming the first openly trans person to speak at a major party convention. She has been a stalwart and effective advocate for equality, spearheading successful campaigns to pass anti-discrimination bills.
More than that, Sarah McBride is exactly the kind of leader we need in office. She's brilliant, hardworking, introspective, humble, selfless, and leads with empathy in everything she does. It is critical we do all we can to support her candidacy.
