This incident is going on between Las Virgenes Rd and Willow Glen St. It is being considered a medium brush fire. Trucks are on scene
Reports indicate the airframe is on fire but the fire is not spreading at this time.
Photos of the crash site. Aircraft has been confirmed to be a Sikorsky S-76E. No survivors in the crash.
RUMINT: Helicopter believed to be involved in the crash was N72EX.
@flightaware last tracking data can be seen below.
@flightaware@flightradar24 tracking map as well makes me believe that this is the aircraft involved in the incident.
@flightaware@flightradar24 We can say with 90% certainty that it was N72EX involved in the #WillowIC. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that there are 5 causalities
@LBAirport It will be very interesting to see what the crash investigators find. I suspect a catastrophic engine failure. Witnesses on the ground reported "engine stuttering and an explosion" before the crash.
The Druzhba will have significant amount of feeder lines, my assumption (pure assumption) is this one be one of the lines, rather than the parent (Druzhba itself)
managed to find a decent(ish) map to show some of the major feeder lines, one is in the vicinity of Luhansk
A number of tweets are circulating claiming that all gov.ua websites are down, this is inaccurate. A number of https://t.co/GHTPaJf8VZ websites have been impacted by a DDoS attack, but this appears to be limited in scope.
Oh hello…. A drone reportedly from “Eastern #Iraq” that was intercepted by coalition forces near/on its way to #Erbil.
That drone looks familiar…. 🙃
This design shares more of a resemblance/design characteristics with the ones we’ve seen used in #Yemen / #Saudi, but they all are derived from the #Iran|ian “Shahed-136”
The Iranian variant and the derived Wa’eed which belongs to the #Houthi’s (Yemen has two variants, technically) have a slightly different nose and winglets.
