Emma Watson felt the weight of Hermione's arc when she had to juggle school work with the demands of shooting Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. "I remember really feeling the pressure of what I was carrying for the first time, like the pressure for the Yule Ball."
"I had a silk dress that was made from scratch, and it was unbelievably expensive. I’d never had to look beautiful before, and I had very bad skin at the time, which didn’t help. While it was a very exciting and amazing time...it was also a real emotional roller coaster.”
The pressure may well have indeed been evident, as Emma made her first grand entrance in said exquisite dress and promptly slid down the stairs. Thankfully, both the dress and Emma remained intact.
Emma did enjoy the dancing lessons that the young cast had to endure. “The girls were looking forward to the dance, and the boys being typical boys were very nervous about it. I love dancing and really enjoyed learning to waltz."
"But Director Mike Newell didn’t want us to be perfect dancers, he wanted to show that we weren’t exactly sure what we were doing and were watching our feet the whole time.”
