A training seminar is starting for #NVCaucus volunteers.
Those participating Saturday are learning how to calculate candidate preference & early votes to determine viability and subsequent, awarded delegates on iPads. @8NewsNow#8NN
The session, which we’re told will last about 2 hours, starts with a breakdown of what to expect on #NVCaucus day.
A big part of a caucus volunteer’s job is to calculate “caucus math,” which determines candidate viability in the first alignment (round). @8NewsNow#8NN
Another big part of the process is the election of the delegates to the county convention.
Those eligible/nominated will make their cases for the position and a vote will be cast. @8NewsNow#8NN
Also Important: #NVCaucus volunteers are expected to represent the Democratic Party in a neutral capacity.
Anyone who is volunteering can not campaign for one candidate or show preference for one candidate over the other. @8NewsNow#8NN
These “caucus math” posters will be available for volunteers to reference throughout the day.
Volunteers will use iPads as a primary source for this, but paper systems are a backup in case the technology fails. @8NewsNow#8NN
