The beneficiary who is a rookie in the Agricultural sector was introduced to me by a follower here on twitter. So we met and I explained the rudiments of the business, stating how people get it wrong from the scratch. Man visited my farm and subsequently decided to allow me plan

With 8M, I believe much can be done. He has a 2 acres of land already
So,the plan is to have a quick inflow through a 2500 capacity Broiler rearing within a period of 5-6 weeks and also have a 2000 point of Lay that will start laying withing 4weeks

The Broiler pen is 35ftx100ft and the total cost of construction is NGN1,300,000

We were able to utilize just about 3M Naira for the farm infrastructures.
Farm structure were constructed using locally available material, no galvanized steel as u can see.
Farm structure doesn't need to be aesthetic, what we need is the functions and durability.

Look out for locally available materials in ur area when planning a farm to reduce unnecessary costs.Ensure the direction/orientation of the pen is correct. The flooring of the pen has to be strong coz birds will peck on them.

The pens are ready and we will be stocking broilers next week until the cage issue is finalized so as to bring in the pullets. I will be handing over the keys to the owner this weekend and continue to give both technical and startup support to the new farm.
