Under the Constitution, Trump's term is up in January, so this would only backfire.

States send their own representatives to Congress. The federal government doesn't control state elections.
How would he enforce it? Send troops to all the polling places?

I can't find it now, but I recall Biden giving the perfect response to the panicked "OMG WHAT IF TRUMP REFUSES TO CONCEDE POWER."

Biden, with a calm smile, "I have no trouble escorting Trump out of the White House."

I can't find it. I'm pretty sure I didn't dream it up.

I would not spend time arguing with this.

The election will be won in November because these people are not a majority, not even close.

After the immediate crisis is over (a Democrat is in the White House) we can begin the long process of dismantling the propaganda machine.
Precisely.
Changing the mind of a cultist requires a long term solution.

Arguing with a cultist will wear you out, frustrate you, and discourage you.

There are better uses of your energy.

The Trump-FOX-GOP strategy for dealing with any and all situations is to lie.

This is intentional.

The more inconsistent and contradictory the lies, the better.

The goal is to confuse people and make the actual truth unknowable.

Anyone who read 1984 understands the strategy.

The crimes have been there all along. People have wanted to believe in institutions and parties and their ability to rein him in. Now it's time to face the reality of where we are
What we're watching with Bill Barr and the Roger Stone case isn't new. It's not novel. It's how Trump has operated from the beginning. He's simply getting more brazen about it and the people who lived in denial are having to see it.

We've wasted way too much time ignoring this.

There were quite a few suggestions made by council members thus far:
Meetings moved to Thursday (Weaver, Brockett, Wallach)
10 p.m. hard stop for meetings (Yates, Wallach, Friend)
Different council members lead study sessions (Weaver, Young)
Rules for adding in "emergency" non-agenda items (Weaver, Wallach)
Remove fourth Tuesday study sessions (Nagle, Yates)
