@EGrafenschnell @Sativa888 @alessabocchi @434Italo I think Twitter is the best public billboard we have for now. Other practical tips; wear a nitrile 🧤 when holding onto straps or bars on tube or buses carefully remove when no longer needed and throw away. 1/n...
@EGrafenschnell @Sativa888 @alessabocchi @434Italo Make your own alcohol based hand gel - rubbing alcohol and aloe Vera gel in correct proportions - google it. Vicks first defence or generic equivalent from Boots - spray up your nose as directed. Evidence shows it reduces viral load with seasonal cold - might do same for....
@EGrafenschnell @Sativa888 @alessabocchi @434Italo #COVID19. Prepare to be stuck at home for a while - ensure you have 2 weeks minimum of food in the cupboard to avoid risk of having to go shopping when the risk of infection is much higher. Remember this is virus lives on contact surfaces for a while...
@EGrafenschnell @Sativa888 @alessabocchi @434Italo What you buy later could have the potential to make you ill if external packaging not cleaned. Think now about how you’d care for a member of your household if they got sick. You may not be able or want to take them to a hospital. You may have to isolate and nurse them yourself
@EGrafenschnell @Sativa888 @alessabocchi @434Italo How would you protect yourself and others from getting infected? The Chinese have published guidance on all of this based on their experience in the past few weeks. Do you have nitrile gloves, disposable plates and cutlery, bleach or other household cleaner to wipe down contact
@EGrafenschnell @Sativa888 @alessabocchi @434Italo Surfaces around the home? Do you have a thermometer 🌡 or two, a pulse oximeter, and a BP monitor at home? As a fever, and lowered SPO2 are diagnostic features of #COVID19 it might be useful to have these and be suing at home now. All available on Amazon still #coronavirusuk

@afneil The focus on ventilators is about as useful as focusing on whether we have enough coffins. There are more valuable interventions that are being totally ignored in uk at present. Let's run through them:
@afneil 1. Early intervention at home for ALL who develop mild #COVIDー19 symptoms - give them ALL a 5 day course of #chloroquine or #Hydroxychloroquine - this will prevent vast majority of severe cases needing to anywhere near a hospital
@afneil 2. Give PEP - post exposure prophylaxis of #chloroquine or #Hydroxychloroquine to the household members in a home where a person develops symptoms. Evidence is that most transmission is within the household. So stop the virus there!

1/n:
Advice for COVID19:
1. Treat early when upper respiratory infection don't want it to become a lower respiratory infection.
2. Have a steamy shower daily or steam inhale - helps breathing and may counter virus in throat.
3. Brush teeth and gargle with warm water - as warm as you can - again trying to inhibit virus in throat.
4. Vitamin D3, vit C, and zinc daily as supportive.
5. Povidone iodine 1% + water 99% gargle frequently during day.
6. Quercetin supplements if you can get them.
7. Licquorice - contains glycherizen which has some anti-viral activity against corona viruses.
8. Loperamide potentially also an anti-viral for covid19.
9. Angiotensin receptor blockers ARBs may also be protective against covid19. If you take them for high blood pressure.

@AlexRuebben Better solution. Give large chunk of low / medium risk population a treatment course of HCQ and Azythromycin plus couple of finger prick antibody tests. At scale that's maybe £15 per person. Let them work and play in offices, pubs etc. ...
@AlexRuebben As they pick up the virus, if symptomatic, they promptly take HCQ / Azithromycin at home and recover with very low rate of complications that won't flood hospitals. Antibody test diy confirms that you've been infected so you can now have a special wrist band confirming your...
@AlexRuebben Immunity. That gives certainty and visibility for everyone and confidence. Meanwhile shelter older people and vulnerable groups, focus resources on looking after them well and then progressively expose them to as well with HCQ/ zithro support. Even better give them low dose CQ
