You know what? Screw it. You all want to imagine the worst case scenario and think we are all going to die? Fine, have at it. I'm so sick and tired of the"muh we are all doomed" bullshit I'm hearing from all quarters. Believe the "math" that makes assumptions that don't have a
...chance in hell of happening if you want, even if you have actual evidence so show that these doomsday predictions are not happening in the real world. No, seriously go ahead and believe the worst case scenarios if it makes you feel better. Yeah go ahead and "run the numbers"
.....leaving out actually variables like the travel ban, quarantines, canceling large gatherings, better hygiene, containment, mitigation, more testing. Nope, ignore all that and "run the numbers". Figure 70% of the population will get the virus even though the actual numbers
...from actual hotzones with active mitigation and containment are showing less than 1% of the population are getting the virus. Just ignore that factiod so you can really ramp up the numbers. While you are at it, ignore the fact that of those that have become infected
.....most don't have any major complications (80+%). Nope, just assume everyone that gets it is going to die. If you really want to increase the fear totally leave out the fact that almost all of the deaths are occurring in people 50 and over.
But by all means, don't stop there. Ignore the fact that as more information/data comes online the death rate is steadily going down. Now it's around 1%, which means it's ten times more deadly than the avg flu(0.1%). Shout that stat from the rooftops but totally ignore the fact
....that last week it was considered 34 to 60 times more deadly until the new data came in. So, "run the numbers" with a 3.4% death rate even though the DR is seen to be decreasing as mild cases are picked up. Also while you are making these "predictions" ignore the fact
...that for most of the country life is going on as normal. The economy isn't at a complete stand still. Don't even try to explain that some sectors are hurting but others are benefiting. Don't mention that stores are packed and shelves are empty unless you are using it...
...to scare people. Never once mention those empty shelves mean that retail is having a banner month. It's like Christmas in March for them. Nope, just repeat that shelves are empty. It's the end times you know.
Don't explain how gasoline is cheap, credit is cheap, inflation is low, that promised massive job losses are not happening yet. Just explain that those will happen at some point in the future forgetting that work from home means work not vacation or unemployment at home.
And if you really want to push the narrative of a total economic collapse refrain from pointing out that home refinancing is through the roof which means that consumers now have more money to spend. Nope, just erase all that from the "muh we are all doomed" numbers.
...and "run the numbers" as if those things don't exist or 1000 other things don't. Nope the "numbers" say we are all going to die. All the "muh we are all doomed" crowd are saying we are all going to die. So, I guess we are all going to die. It's been nice knowing you.
