Here is the reality. Many businesses are struggling but grocery stores are PRINTING MONEY right now. I know for a fact that some Kroger stores selling TWICE WHAT THEY DID THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING

Some of these extra profits could be used to protect workers

So since this episode was recorded on the summer Friday after July 4th when it seemed like no one but the Jobs Day crew was working....let's discuss data around vacation in the US. With graphs!
77% of private-sector workers in the US had access to paid vacation in 2018. Compare that to...77% in 2010. At the same time paid family leave access has jumped from 10% to 16% and paid sick days from 63% to 71%.
This graph takes the same time trend and normalizes 2010 to 100, which makes the trend easier to see

2/ You might remember my story from yesterday: A PAC tried to sue the Fire Union to prevent the council from placing the items on the ballot. Here's that story.

3/ The city council's role in the amendments is purely ministerial in where it has to put them on the ballot. The lawsuit in the above tweet is still expected to more forward on other grounds. A council briefing on the expected impact of the amendments will made before vote.
