We’re waiting on tonight’s emergency @ClarkCountyNV meeting to start.

Commissioners are expected to address enforcement of @GovSisolak’s order to close non-essential businesses, calling it a necessary step to flatten the #COVID19 curve. @8NewsNow #8NN

“We have authority in the appropriate barriers of #ClarkCounty to enforce this ordinance.”

Under the current ordinance, @LVMPD has the authority to close businesses for 8 hours, but the emergency ordinance extends this. @8NewsNow #8NN

A lieutenant stands up to speak on how enforcement will be carried out.

He said his team will go to businesses that aren’t complying, providing a copy of the declaration, asking them to close. If a business still doesn’t close, they could take civil/criminal action. @8NewsNow

Commissioners and governor/attorney general staff have made clear that these particular rules and steps for enforcement apply to businesses in #ClarkCounty, located outside of incorporated city limits.
