As we manage these lockdowns, we must also prepare to lift each other up. The US has for too long turned its back on the majority of its citizens, devoted the attentions of its government to further enriching the rich and further empowering the powerful.
Many of us...and our towns and cities and counties and states...will be profoundly wounded by this current crisis. We must care for each other, feel for each other, and help create new opportunities for one another. The federal government must play a central role here.
Many within the administration and the GOP leadership will fight like hell against this critical mission. But they have failed us and all of us, regardless of party, must send them a message that we cannot endure such failure any longer.
