What has happened to our taxes?

Until when would the state pass on to us, through donation drives, its obligation to adequately provide for health frontliners and other vulnerable sectors?

Napakawalanghiya talaga ng gobyerno.
Make no mistake: Citizen initiatives are good, esp when they fill the gaping void left by the Duterte regime's criminal negligence, ineptitude and mistaken priorities.

Hopefully Congress would intervene and make sure public funds are released where they are needed.
I find it crazy that agencies like DOTr don't find anything wrong with private donors going out to donate food for transport workers. Breaking news: They donate because you neglect the drivers. Idiots.
Appeals for donations continue to be aired by staff of public hospitals. Of course, people would respond, out of respect and concern. But we can't do that for long. We must press the administration to adequately fund our public hospitals.
It is not true that the government of the Philippines has no funds. Even the Palace says there's money. Our national budget is P4.1-trillion. Congress can supplement this budget. Napakaraming tax increases. Slay the claims we don't have money for health, masks, PPE.
Suma tutal, the administration is being stingy against public hospitals and frontliners.

We must not accept that PGH, the country's biggest and premiere tertiary public hospital, is forced to beg for and rely on public donations.
I hope lawmakers would check why the government cannot provide adequate masks, PPEs, alcohol and other essentials to public hospitals. Administration appears to pass on the burden to the public eh nagbayad na tayo ng buwis precisely for these public services.
It would provide health frontliners and the public a huge dose of confidence when we see government stocking up on masks, PPEs and other essentials especially in public hospitals.

Having this problem on Day 1 or 2 of the lockdown is ok. Pero hanggang ngayon, di nilulutas.
