A few interesting things I learnt while reshuffling my website - a major effort triggered by the Covid catastrophe and the need to refocus my work

First, I just wouldn't have done this work if I hadn't felt the urgency to reinvent my professional practice. In a way, Covid forced me to more clarity on what I do. Out of bad comes (some little) good.

It was a good choice 2 yrs ago to design & set up my website on my own - with great coaching advice from @_Gooweb - rather than have it done for me. I learnt by doing. It could look better but I have real ownership and I can test & experiment

The @squarespace platform is pretty cool and user friendly. But it doesn't do everything. So, I had to do a bit of coding to integrate a table (following this excellent tutorial emworkshop.co/blog/2018/1/3/…) #table #squarespace

And then I did coding again, to integrate a poll. This time, I used this tryinteract.com/blog/how-to-pu… It was already past midnight yesterday when I started, spent time battling w/ size, but got it done 💪😎

I also realized my website was waaay too wordy. Typical me 😖 When I set it up 2 yrs ago while launching my business, I felt like explaining (to myself?) what I had in mind. Result: too long! Unclear! I spent time streamlining it.
But is there enough substance left? #FineBalance

I added a commerce feature, so that people can book my coaching services online (for example, this: weneedsocial.com/coaching-packa…) The VAT topic makes me uneasy but I feel lucky I'm in #Europe, with some level of standardization among countries.

While coding and rearranging content & blocks, so focused that I wasn't even checking Twitter or else, I gave a thought to Europe & the world... Forces *against* cooperation seem pretty strong these days. Massive social disruption ahead. How will all this evolve? 🤔
