Just published @CellCellPress: From 60 patients convalesced from #COVID19, single-cell sequencing of their B cells-> 14 potent neutralizing monoclonal antibodies. With 1 #3D crystal structure, and model efficacy in hACE2 mice as preventive therapy. Wow.👍

There have been 2 prior reports (both @ScienceMagazine) isolating neutralizing antibodies, each from a single patient w/discovery of key epitopes +cryo-EM structure. This report goes well beyond those w/ sc-RNA seq of B cells *60* patients, model efficacy, best nAb paper to date

What's the chances that these 13 serology tests given EUA approval by @US_FDA (as of today) have anywhere close to 100% specificity claimed?

These tests w/ limited data -> commercial runway to be used widely-> potential misinformation
Example: false negative rate @AbbottGlobal (used by @WhiteHouse) may be as high as 50%. Now, after release March 27, FDA investigating:

That people can have #COVID19 without symptoms is one of the most challenging aspects of preventing spread.
A recent preprint meta-analysis says the rate is 16% medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
But we (@danieloran and I) believe it is >30%.

It's unclear. But first let's review the meta-analysis.
They found 460 studies and winnowed it down to 5 (1%), for various reasons 2/x
The only 5 included are here. These are rated for different biases, but not included was whether they're of a representative population (1/5?)
A goal was to have some follow-up of the people to be sure that they weren't actually pre-symptomatic, which is the big confounder
