Start with the how if you truly want to inspire action. An organization has 3 pillars -

1. Why they what they do
2. What they do
3. How they do it

Most of the companies can have similar sounding Why. There isn’t any shortage of changing the world, putting the dent in the universe, finding new way of living etc.

These are noble life pursuing goals but they aren’t sufficient to create momentum. Read, not movement.

Any organization can start a movement but it’s the momentum which brings change.

It’s the how that creates this momentum. And the how is nothing but the culture. And it truly differentiates the companies that are successful for a long haul with the ones that fail.

When I mention culture, I mean -
1. How you treat your team members
2. How you treat your customers
3. How do you focus on Quality
4. How do you adapt to change
5. etc.

Anyone can copy your “Why”, and the “What”. It’s the how that truly differentiates you. The how takes years to build and it’s not easily replicable. So have a laser focus on how you are going to run your business, and create a possibility to have momentum.

If I was to look back at my life - all the seemingly successful things had the right “how”. And all things I’ve failed in, and there are lots of them, I wasn’t following the right “how”, even though I had the right “why”.
