After today's press conference, it's pretty clear why #Kerala govt raised objections regarding Shramik trains from Mumbai. (Thane-Ernakulam train on 24 May was cancelled)

But the ones who actually created this issue are the Malayali organizations in #Mumbai
These people were collecting names via Google form. The issue is, the messages did not have Jagratha portal link. No mention of compulsory e-pass. And these messages were forwarded even on the day of journey.
So, many passengers reached railway station without registering on the website. They thought that filling the Google form is enough. (This happened even on May 22, when the first Mumbai-Kerala train left LTT.)

Here's a message I received on 24 May.
It was reported that 1600 passengers had submitted names. A list sent today revealed that only 863 had registered and had an e-pass. Not at all surprising that the train had to be cancelled.
Due to the stupidity of the same Malayali organizations which were created for their welfare, Mumbai Malayalis were stranded without any means to go back to their home. At least a few of them had reached there after vacating their hostels/rented places.
After all this, people who hadn't registered were asked to register. A new message, which fortunately had a detailed explanation, stated that a new train will be scheduled when there are enough passengers, also indicating that the date would be most probably 27th or 28th May!
And out of nowhere, a new message informing that a train will be leaving Thane is sent in WhatsApp groups today (26th) after 12 PM (<6 hrs before the departure). This new message also mentions that registration up to 2 PM will be considered.
No jagratha link again, but at least it mentions that e-pass is compulsory. And as expected, the train got delayed, and has just departed (11.30 PM). Many are complaining that they were informed late. We can imagine what would have happened if this train was cancelled!
The purpose of this thread is to show what's really happening in Mumbai. This is not at all in the hands of Kerala govt. The lack of co-ordination from Mumbai is clearly visible, and good for nothing Malayali organizations are adding to the confusion!
