Heard man reports that the govt. strategy for the #Cummings scandal now is to repeatedly insist that 'people want us to move on'

I can't speak for all people, but @BorisJohnson, Cummings, and the rest of your sock puppet cabinet, here's why I absolutely won't be 'moving on'

My healthy 58yo father contracted #Covid19 in March, right when @borisjohnson was boasting about shaking hands and saying we should 'take it on the chin'. He later died from it.

I missed my father's illness, death, and have been kept away from all my friends and family at a time of immense grief, because I was told repeatedly by my government to stay home, save lives, and protect the NHS

I kept away from everyone and everything at the most painful time of my life, and I then found out that the powerful (unelected) govt figure who helped impose these rules on me was traversing the country as and when he liked for no good reason

I've had to power through my intense grief for my own small children, who are scared, isolated and grieving themselves, during lockdown

But #Cummings did 'what any good parent would do'. Which logically means I'm a bad one, because I did different

I was lectured about what 'good parenting' is by a man who can't tell us how many children he has from his multiple marriages, on behalf of a man who admits to driving 30 miles in a car with his 4yo 'to make sure he was safe to do so'

When #Cummings was caught violating the lockdown rules so brazenly, we were bombarded with lies, denials, and absolutely ludicrous cover stories that nobody with even a fraction of a working brain would find convincing. But not apologies

#Cummings is on the SAGE committee. He is influencing the scientific advice that (supposedly) dictates the lockdown rules. And he behaves like this? Either he doesn't believe the science, or thinks he's exempt from it. Neither is acceptable

Basically, I and many others have gone through the worst emotional pain imaginable, and #Cummings and @BorisJohnson have spat in all our faces, repeatedly, almost enthusiastically, purely to retain their grip on power

So, no, I WON'T BE FUCKING 'MOVING ON'!

To clarify; myself and others aren't outraged about #Cummings because he 'may or may not have done something illegal'

We're outraged because he did something we as a nation were repeatedly told not to do, often at immense personal cost, because doing so could kill people

Every CEO who awards himself a 6 figure bonus while their employees on zero hours connects visit foodbanks isn't doing anything illegal. Doesn't mean they're not an immoral scumbag.

Now resignedly awaiting the " #CUMMINS DIDN'T DO ANYTHING ILLEGAL (MUCH) SO YOU CAN ALL SHUT UP NOW, TRY MOURNING PROPERLY NEXT TIME YOU STUPID GRIEVING PROLES!" hot takes from the usual suspects

Thanks to all who've shared/endorsed my thread. Been looking after my kids all day today as wife was working. I know 'any good parent' would have violated lockdown to palm them off on relatives, but I'll just have to accept that I'm an inadequate father
