Listen to what our members are saying!!
" We would have cooked and taken to the less privileged ones, bearing in mind #SDGs goal 2 "Zero Hunger"

In a country blessed like #Nigeria, we still have people who go to bed without food.

Youth inclusion ; what is the way foward?" ~ @AwelelewaOtakpo
The most common symptoms of foodborne disease are stomach pains, vomiting and diarrhoea. I have seen this alot in the community over here. Children are at high risk from eating unsafe foods. 😢😢

Let our voice be heard today. ~ James Okpanachi

This is a unique topic for discussions for a time like this.
Especially at this time when the crude oil price, where our foreign income is dependent on is unreliable and agriculture is believed to be the best alternative. - Melaye Olusanya Babatunde

The challenge of food preservatives and packaging has been one of our major set back in food exportation. Some of our food items (grains) are said to be "not good for human consumption" due to bad preservatives and packaging. - Melaye Olusanya Babatunde

Meanwhile, this is the food we all consume with all voracity without any consciousness of what and where it is preserved.

This has led some many to untimely grave even without proper diagnosis. - Melaye Olusanya Babatunde

Have we actually asked ourselves, in recent time why a lot of young people are infected with some terminal diseases like Kidney failures, liver damage, heart disease pancreas Cancer etc (which are said to be associated with old age before now)? - Melaye Olusanya Babatunde

There is need for government and the relevant agencies (@NafdacAgency, ministries and agencies in the agricultural value chain) to do not only in regulation but also in educating and sensitization to all agriculture and food processing value chains in Nigeria. - Melaye

Also, more attention should be given to our importation of food. In Nigeria now, we have a lot of our foods (e.g Gari, Red oil, groundnut oil to mention a few, highly chemicalized👌🏼) being imported from China, 🙁 - Melaye Olusanya Babatunde

In short, we can't talk about food safety without touching a few those things I mentioned above. The effects of poor food hygiene also can not be overemphasized especially for the common men on the street. - Melaye Olusanya Babatunde

We need to look at this topic holistically thereafter engage with the relevant authorities for effective implementation of some of those things. - Melaye Olusanya Babatunde

One beautiful thing about this year's theme is the involvement of everyone as stakeholder: "#FoodSafety is every one business"
What is key is, contributing our bits to the big picture of ending zero hunger in Nigeria. Growing, preserving, or eating safe.
