#Texas rise in #SARSCoV2 cases is almost all a Reporting and Testing problem, not community spread.

Texas raw case totals increased 84% in one week. Dig deeper into the numbers, you see why.

These two pics list 66 mostly smaller counties in Texas.

To understand this, let's take the 1st one on the list, Schleicher County. Between 3/4/20 and 6/21/20, they've recorded 12 cases. On 6/14/2020 they had recorded 1 cases. One week later they added 11 cases to that total. 91.7% of their total comes from this past week.

Next one. Anderson County. On 6/14 they had 102 cases throughout the pandemic. One week, after reporting 904 new cases, they are at 1006. 89.9% of their reported cases for the ENTIRE Pandemic came LAST WEEK.

These 66 counties all had 30% of their entire Pandemic's worth of cases happen this week.

9302 cases this week alone in these mostly smaller counties, which is 40% of the total that Texas reported this week -23,747.

So what does this mean? Well deaths and hospitalizations are either flat or rising much more slowly than 84%, so it means a lot of the following is happening.

6/end

Governor Abbott said as much in his presser last week, went through multiple examples of hot-spot focus, prisons, care facilities, and factories, reporting lags, suspected cases. FL Governor DeSantis had 2 press conferences last week going through the same thing!
