As a traumatized 16 year old, I was told (probably truthfully) by my rape counsellor -
"the police will ask you questions in a way that will make you feel like you're lying, I don't think you're robust enough for that"

Consensual, to me, as a sexually naive 16 yr old meant - did you fight him with everything you had? Not, did you say no?
Had the nurse asked - 'did you say no' I would have given a different answer. I'm not blaming her, she was kind, I remember seeing tears rolling down her face
I fell apart at work, had a panic attack and took some time off to deal with and report the incident.
It seemed hopeful until the document surfaced...
To me, other than my rapist being taken in for questioning, I did more harm by reporting it than good.

That's why grooming needs to be called out for what it is....
I hate revisiting this but it's a huge part of my history and articles like this remind me how much work there is still to be done.
Whether it comes in the form of lesbians being coerced/bullied into including 'lady dick' in their dating pools
SHE SAYS NO FIVE TIMES.

She says "stop it"
Her dress is ripped, she screams, her body is exposed & then suddenly ofc she has a change of heart.
