Contact tracing 3-4 people is much easier than 20-30 per case which is where they are in past week. Taking longer put more people at risk.

Just being outside isn't enough - you can spread this face to face outside.

Wash hands, follow one way paths in stores, use barriers like masks when you can't keep distance.
When traveling be considerate of others and that community - put a mask on , take out don't eat in.

All ppl must be seated
no self serve or dance floors

We are not going back to restrictions we had earlier this year Dr Henry says but we have to go to the basics that we know keep us safe and stem the transmission of the virus.

Q: What's behind the curve bending up - did we open too soon?
Dr Henry - no. we knew there would be increased cases with more contacts. It is not surprising but it is a wake-up sign where transmissions are more likely. Mentions BC interior specifically.

Remember every time you meet a new group you are exposing yourself to their risks.
We need to get on top of it Dr Henry says.

This is not a failure, Dr Henry says, it was expected that some guidances and restrictions would have to be altered as more contacts occurred.
These are risky times and these increases jeopardizes a lot of the work we've done.

Dr Henry says there are likely more people exposed than the 1000 who are now in isolation.
The number of positives for every 100 tests done is still low so that is good news that there are not many cases being missed.

Q re drum circle at 3rd beach - what does Dr henry think, do we need stricter enforcement
A: lt is a scenario where we don't want lots of ppl together in close contact/conversation. Bylaw can enforce (me: the city says it's up to province)

Q re survey that parents want kids to wear masks & hybrid model.
Dr Henry: will not be mandate for masks. Know from students masks not needed, not good for long periods of time and there are other ways to learn safely.

Dr henry saying what education min @Rob_Fleming said a short time ago - that they want maximum number of kids back in school in a learning environment. That plan's coming in a week.

Q do we need regional restrictions - seeing as most new infections are in Kelowna?
No - Dr henry says need to target the behaviours. But talking with @Interior_Health if some restrictions are needed for events specific to that area.

Q back to drum circle - should organizers be chastized - who can go in and break those up if the city says they can't
Dr Henry says she doesn't agree with the city. There are orders in place.
Says event wasn't organized per se but a coming together.

Q why were alerts not put out until days after restaurants are closed because of exposures?
Dr Henry - some notices come from restaurant themselves - not necessarily on advice of public health. Health will put out a warning/alert if deemed necessary.

Q rentals like Air BNB offering rentals for more than 6 people - why are they being allowed.
Dr Henry says if its for a family that is large or a group that is in a bubble together. It is concerning when groups - different bubbles are mixing together.

Dr Henry says increase in recent cases recently in younger ppl - while their cases may be more mild they can be bad and they can spread to others. One person in interior health is in hospital from exposure to young person who was at Kelowna party.

Dr henry is asked about precautions at hospitals. Says visitors should be limited and screened. (I know screening isn't happening at all hospitals).

Health min @adriandix asked what he thought about the 3rd beach drum circle last night.
He says each person needs to remember their responsibility and that most transmissions are from someone you know.

Restrictions specific to interior:
Dr Henry says hearing about larger gatherings - larger than manageable- that has proven to be venue where there are transmissions. Also putting strain on public health - trying to contact trace as fast as needed.

Looking at rental agencies like houseboat companies, rental agencies to put limit on what can be done. At least for the next incubation period Dr Henry says.

Re contacts at the start of the pandemic there could be up to 100 which made contact trace teams scramble, Henry. The interior is now at 20-30 (up from avg 3-4) making it harder to find people within the 2-3 days before they start to show symptoms.

Q what are events of concern - karaoke, trivia nights?
Dr henry: exactly what she's talking about. Biz wanting to have entertainment. But then ppl started standing at tables, after a few drinks mingling. So want to calm environment- ending night at 11.
