This unbelievable, immeasurable shitbag is being charged. CHARGED with felony tax evasion to the tune of $464,433.
Why am I emphasizing the word 'charged'??

2). Because this is a glaring example of some of what the people in the streets are so "Extremely" (Barr-ism) upset about.
This man, who had an incredibly violent service record including 18 official complaints on record, 2 of which resulted in disciplinary action,

3). and 3 police shootings, (one fatal), this officer, trained & trusted with the mandate to serve and protect, was still being paid by Minneapolis despite a clear pattern of violence throughout his 19 yr tenure, still drawing a paycheck on May 25th, 2020.

4). (Note: While on the city payroll, he also completed training on the dangers of positional asphyxiation.)

5). Now, I realize that this has all been discussed ad nausea (for some), and not enough (for most), but the above was all in context for the following:
While Ofc. Chauvin was on the payroll of the Minneapolis PD, he and his wife (who filed for divorce the day he was arrested)

6.) submitted fraudulent tax returns from 2014-2019, under-reporting their joint income by a total (the UNDER-REPORTED TOTAL) of $464,433, including more than $95,000 from his off-duty security work (some of which he earned working alongside someone who's name most of us should

So here we are, looking at a guy, w/a history of violence, actively (allegedly) committing a FEDERAL and STATE CRIME. For years,

while on the payroll of a police department, still working, in a system that is designed to absolutely crush the lives and potential of people doing

#GeorgeFloyd was pulled over for suspicion of passing a counterfeit $20 bill.
FYI, the maximum penalty for KNOWINGLY using counterfeit money in MN is 1yr/$3,000 fine.

So let's go back to that 'suspected of' line. George Floyd was suspected of passing a bogus $20 bill. He had not been charged with anything, meaning no D.A. had reviewed

11.) anything &/or made any determination on whether this was a viable allegation worthy of prosecution.

Conversely, Fmr. Ofc. Chauvin HAS been CHARGED, with all of the above listed financial CRIMES, indicating the D.A. has sufficient confidence that the charges will result

12). in conviction (likely for both he & his wife, as she was a party to this as well - sorry, can't divorce yourself from that shit).
So in addition to the myriad of capital crimes he is charged with concerning the death of #GeorgeFloyd, he is also charged with these as well.

14). over allegedly passing a POTENTIALLY bogus $20 dollar bill.
Others might say he was abused, brutalized, & murdered for another reason, like perhaps because the detaining officer knew he could do it.

I know what I think, I'll leave you to decide your own opinion.

15). Twenty dollars.
Think about this. How many bars, beer/convenience stores have you been in where there are bogus 20's under the blotter at the counter. Lots, right? Me too.
Think about, if each time you saw one of those, it represented a POC's death, an epitaph of sorts.

16). Horrifying thought, right?
No, not even, comparatively speaking. The reality is far, far more terrible. The actual numbers of dead POC's for things that go without consequence for others of my complexion are an absolute atrocity.
Twenty fucking dollars. 1/23,221 of above.

17). Getting back to my son keying me on to this story, there are some interesting, random things here for me.
My eldest son, who I am proud of beyond measure for countless reasons, not least of which is his new found activism, was born on May 25th.

18). He, as well as many of his friends have or will turn 18 this year.
They are now registered voters. They have all borne witness to, and lost part of their lives to the inaction, the impotence, and ignorance of my generation as well as those before me.
They are mobilizing.

19). They are creative in their defiance. They are resolute in their determination. They are optimistic. They are pissed off, and they are coming. As is the change that they're bringing.
Will there be mistakes? Of course. Will that change come? I look at them and say Fuck. Yes.

20). I look at both of my boys and see the future of this country, this entire planet. I see days to come that someone isn't beaten, broken, & killed because of the intoxication of subjugation & power. Most of all I see a day where these dinosaurs of power are gone, and an era

21). of sense, compassion, resolute determination, action, and equality are the wheels that power the machine over greed, suppression, lies, and false superiority.

Most of all, I see a world where twenty dollars is twenty dollars, and any life is beyond appraisal.

22). I am by nature cynical, sarcastic and sometimes even pessimistic. so it is as surprising to me as it may be to others that I say I'm genuinely optimistic for the future. I know we'll overcome this 4 yr descent into lunacy that has cost us so much, set us back so far, & seen

23). so many of us gone, with more still to come. I know we will rise from this low point. By some measure, this period of stupidity and discord may have even been necessary, if only to have a reminder of the fragility of society, and a bar/(Barr) to which we must distance from.

24). I'll end with this:
To the GOP and the complicit enablers of this dark, intolerant, awful movement that's supported this descent, be warned. You're being evicted, like your deranged, impotent figurehead and his family has done to so many disadvantaged people. Your time

25.) has come to a close. You will be vilified for all time, and your legacy will be one of shame.
There will be a day when there are no more #GeorgeFloyd's, no more #briannataylor's.
Those names will be remembered.

Yours will not.
