As a parent of 2 sons, I'm grateful that my younger son graduated from college last year, but I can imagine how frustrated & frightened I would feel if my boys were still in high school or younger. I GUARANTEE that I would NOT send them back for in-school learning right now.

Just take Florida, for example. FIVE minors have already DIED from #COVID19 & they were sheltering at home! Going into the "petri dish" that a school will be, is guaranteeing they'll come in contact with #Covid_19... & probably bring it home.

Some people might be willing to risk putting their kids on a school bus or in school, since MOST children who catch #COVID19 DON'T die or have serious permanent consequences, like brain or other organ damage. I couldn't. My sons are my world, my life, my heart, my soul.

Ask yourself, "Will I & my child(ren) forgive ourselves if I make the wrong decision & we or our son/daughter suffers or dies bc I sent him/her back to school before our gov't made it safe?" & your answer is, "Yes," then you & your child must've talked abt this & you're sure.

But if you say "No," seriously consider home-schooling or online schooling until the #USA gets #COVID19, #testing & #tracing under control & figures out how to make busses, classrooms & other school areas safer for the most precious of all gifts... your child(ren).

One more piece of advice: Take advantage of this time together. Enjoy every minute. One day soon, you'll turn around & your little ones will be adults, ready & eager to start living their own lives...& you'll have to do one of the hardest of parental obligations: Let go.

May #COVID19 spare your family, friends & neighbors.
May you know nobody who has to fight this devious virus or loses anyone to it.
May the day come soon when #American scientists, our medical leaders, like Dr #Fauci, get this under control.
