Australia is currently a red zone, VIC, - NSW is likely on the same trajectory if policy makers continue to resist implementing effective measures - have dangerously high numbers of community transmission. Schools should not be open.

It is particularly unsafe when effective measures such as mask-wearing have not been mandated in high risk environments such as schools where the 3 C’s are very difficult to avoid.

And especially since most recent studies show that children are both effective transmitters of COVID-19 and can face long term health consequences even with a mild case not to mention die.

We need to ‘pull out all the stops’ to proactively prevent transmission in high risk school environments, not wait until cases arise. This is not only to protect the staff & students, but to protect the communities surrounding schools.

Our demands to ‘pull out all the stops’ to #get2zero, including shutting down schools in non-green zones, has to place the burden of responsibility for achieving this back on the federal govt - it is uniquely positioned as the monetary sovereign to use fiscal policy to protect us

Governmental advice overly places the burden of responsibility on individuals & communities - an ideologically motivated attempt to obscure the govts actual power to put a stop to C-19. The govt is absolutely capable of getting to zero - it chooses not to

#MMT must be part of the conversation in coming up with life-saving C-19 policy. Our govt (& the ALP opp @AlboMP) have to abandon the deadly ideological games & choose to protect us with the full might of fiscal policy.
