Today I've made some major changes to the future direction of @UnstrippedVoice:

✅ Mostly #BlackHistory clips
✅ No more "regular" news updates (only very crucial ones)
✅ Focus on self-help / economic tips, etc.

If you don't have time to read the article, here's a quick version:

1. I started the page back after the police killing of #TerenceCrutcher back in 2016 in my college town of Tulsa, OK, while learning about #Redlining at the same time. Yes, those are 2 different types of events. But they both impacted me in a major way.

2. I wanted to know why these things kept happening if racism was "supposedly" solved, so I went digging. I found
#EyesOnThePrize on youtube & then sliced the 14-hour series into 50+ shorter clips, posting them on our FB page.

3. 550,000 followers, 200 million+ views, and 2.8 million comments later, we (hopefully) made an impact.

Then George Floyd happened...

4. The George Floyd situation taught me that although people of *all* races learned more about the Black plight, in the end people just don't care. They want things to go back to "normal", which is continued oppression...rather they know it or not.

5. I then wondered how people can really respect folks like me. I realized that -- although voting is powerful, the thing more powerful than money is "economic" leverage. In other words, when we own wealth, people will respect us because MONEY TALKS!

6. So my views went from showing as many people Black history facts as possible to helping our economic situation. The Black wealth is 10x less than White wealth (due to historical injustices & lack of information). This has to be corrected!

7. So I wanted to make a change. I realized that "regular" news and commentary did not help one's #MentalHealth, especially these days...and our posts really didn't help (if I'm being honest). So I decided to make the change to @UnstrippedVoice.

8. That's pretty much it. We'll still show #BlackHistory clips because that's our origins, but we're in a more positive direction now. I'm on @themobetterlife now (a new blog that promotes health, business, & financial literacy).

9. It's time to get our economic leverage up so people can REALLY respect us!
