Before you get raged by 70% of #Mogadishu students being failed, think about this: Suuqa xoolaha 'education' system for sale/rent/bribe! These kids were being robbed from day one! Most are sitting at home unemployed after expensive miseducation, with no job prospects, much poor!!
Last time I checked, #Mogadishu alone had 63 universities...For an estimated 2 million population. There is no standard for education. If you can rent a house for $2 and hire anyone to teach, you can establish uni. Ministry of education is more interested in 'registration' cash!!
How do you expect the same institution that cares more about the little cash they collect from any kiosk university to deliver on their mandate? How do you expect these guys who let anyone teach anything, often really detrimental to mind and country, put student interest first?!
Minister Godah is a good friend. Welcomed me warmly to Mozambique, when I moved there. He is a sharp guy, successful business man. He knows better than this, much better. But have given up Godah is in politics for anyone but himself. So, aboow, fix this shit or get the fuck out.
We are enraged by students being failed in bulk, but not as offended by a system that has failed students, parents who slaved for wages, a country in desperate need of skills that these institutions don't even know, let alone teach!!

Be raged by isbaarooyin iskuulo la dhigey.
What shocked me when hiring in #Mogadishu, was the gap between how willing these kids are in doing whatever it takes to grow and learn, and how these universities were totally destroying minds, raw talents, and dreams!!!

Not met many kids as hungry for growth as Somali kids!!!
I hired some SIMAD graduates, and had to train them extra, which put so much pressure on my own work, so I could 'justify' why I was closing Nairobi office, letting go of few staff working there on a Somalia project (this is how they steal money) and hire staff in Mogadishu.
Do you know kinds of fights Somalis have to undertake to push for jobs to go to Somalis as a priority? Do you know what the Nairobi NGO cartels would do to a Somali who is migrating resources from Kenya to the intended place in Somalia? NGOs fight us for enforcing accountability.
Somalis working in NGOs + UN fight silent battles within incredibly toxic & mentally damaging environment in supposedly 'humanitarian' and 'development' sectors!! The racism, discrimination, and openly abusive treatment met with Somalis is mind-boggling. We fight on many fronts.
Somali students and graduates are faced with too many obstacles to even find basic jobs. Meel walbaa laga xirey, from ministry to job search, waa wada isbaarooyin!!! And it doesn't get easier as you go up career ladder: dowlad iyo NGOs/UN cartel baa meeshaas kugu sugaayo.
This goes beyond bulk failing students. It is about how systems are structured only to extract, exploit, and in the process hijack development from within...And for the benefit of few at the top. It is by design, not by accident. Do you number of 'graduates' who die in tahriib?
The so called 'elite' at top is a parasite class, aboor wax ku filan aan la arag!! They feed on the poor, students, graduates desperate for jobs, IDPs. Waxaase cajiib ah, when you call them out, kuwii la haystay baa difaac meelahaan la yimaada! Lol. Conditioned to self-sabotage!!
NGOs/UN have open policies to underpay and exploit 'local Somalis'. And often they use diaspora ama Kenyan-Somali to do the exploitation. When you object to that, and decide you are going to pay salaries based on skills/experience, not on passport, cadaan will fight you with all!
Ministry of labour, in the meantime, is lining up for arse-kissing of cadaan and depends on them to their their most basic work, including meetings!! Yaa la xasaabtamo hay'adahaan waxay doonaan iska sameeya. Having worked in Hargeisa, respect to #Somaliland ministry of labour!
Do you know that most workers in Somalia work without contracts, often for tiny slave wages that are hardly ever paid on time! They have no holidays, no rights, they work crazy hours - markaasaa slave masters masaajid dhax taaganyihiin daily, yaa loo tukadaa?! The God who sees u?
Most cruel, exploitative systems in place, no laws enacted to project the majority working class, and many IDPs. The rot goes deep laakiin fake news iyo igusawir baa sheeko lagu soo gabagabeeyey. With social media misleading posts of shiny buildings with #MogadishuRising slogan!
Not giving contracts is a way to keep a leash around the necks of a majority day-laborer population! That way adaa iska xukumanaayo, fire them when you want, don't pay them if you wish, wax ka celiyana ma leh. Nabad ma dhowa, ilaa ay naxariis & daacadnimo Soomaali ku soo noqoto.
Jaamacado maxaa loogu baahanyahay hadey kuwii ka soo baxay shaqo la'yihiin, wadankiina malaayiin dhib ku furanyihiin oo jaamacadahaan aysan dadkii xalin lahaa soo saari karin?!

Waxaanse iloobey, Soomaali & title-jeceel!! Addicts to false statuses they willingly enslave selves!!
