Mr @Swamy39 has claimed to be the last-minute savior of Ram Setu from an imminent demolition

How true are these claims? Did Swamy actually aid in stopping such an event of destruction? Did he have any role in Ram Setu case? Let's put out facts & you decide! 1/n

On 31.8.2007 the Supreme Court had issued an order seeking govt's response by 14.9.2007

There is no evidence, news article or any proof to support the fact that Congress would've demolished the Ram Setu & that @Swamy39 stopped it through court's order.

In Supreme Court's order from 17.07.2007, we can see that there were two petitioners in Ram Setu case:

1. Rama Gopalan
2. Subramanian Swamy

The petition of Rama Gopalan was transferred from High Court to Supreme Court

HC had sought reply from govt. on whether they had undertaken any archaeological survey of the Ram Setu site.

Since the case was transferred, govt had to now file a response to Supreme Court.

So in order to please Karunanidhi, Congress in 2008 said "Lord Rama himself destroyed the Setu & it was no longer a place of worship" & that it will go forward with the canal project.
