India's total #COVID19 recoveries has crossed 54 lakhs today.
It accounts for 21% of global recovered cases, while its share in total cases stands at 18.6%.
India has amongst the lowest global fatality rates.
While the global CFR stands at 2.97%, the comparative figure for India is 1.56%.
The global average is 130 deaths /million population. India is reporting 73 deaths /million population, one of the lowest in the world.
For the 12th successive day, India has sustained its steady trend of maintaining the #COVID19 active cases below the 10-lakh mark. The number of active cases today is 9,44,996.
74.36% of the recovered cases in the past 24 hours are from 10 States/UTs. #Maharashtra has contributed the highest number to these followed by #AndhraPradesh and #Karnataka.

Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package(PMGKP) was announced on March 2020, and was extended thrice till 24 April '21. It was launched to provide safety net to Health Workers to ensure that in case of any adversity due to #COVID19,their families are taken care of.
Insurance cover of Rs. 50 Lakhs is provided under
PMKGP scheme. This has provided a safety net to the dependents of Corona warriors who lost their lives to #COVID.
287 claims have been paid by the Insurance Company so far.
The Scheme has played a crucial psychological role in boosting the morale of the Health Workers fighting #COVID19.
Govt of India has written to all Central Ministries & PSUs under them to dedicate their Hospital beds for #COVID19 Management in States/UTs.
This will go a long way to address the shortage of beds being reported from some States.

Union Health Ministry has advised all central Ministries to issue instructions to the hospitals under their control or their PSUs to set-up exclusive dedicated hospital wards or separate blocks within the hospitals for #Covid_19 Care, as was done last year.
162 PSA oxygen plants have been sanctioned by Government of India for installation in public health facilities in all States.
These will augment medical oxygen capacity by 154.19 MT.
Out of 162 PSA plants sanctioned by Govt of India, 33 have already been installed - 5 in MP, 4 in Himachal Pradesh, 3 each in Chandigarh, Gujarat & Uttarakhand, 2 each in Bihar, Karnataka & TL; and 1 each in AP, CG, Delhi, Haryana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Punjab & UP.
States have appreciated installation of PSA #Oxygen plants in their public health facilities.
In addition to 162 plants already sanctioned, they have requested Government of India for more than 100 such additional plants which are also being sanctioned.
