One thing stolen: an African American heritage Bicentennial quilt, made by local Black women. Police found it blocks away, wet.

A homeless man named Oscar wrote he didn’t have much to give, but he saw the damage & wanted to help, adding “You once gave me a free tour. So this is a thank you.”

.@tedwheeler tells reporters: city has reduced @PortlandPolice budget by $27 million. "That is substantial ... Any further reductions are going to have to clear a very high bar from my perspective."

Here’s the Afro-American Heritage Bicentennial Commemorative Quilt, which was stolen from the @OrHist last night. Was made by 15 local Black women (ahead of the Bicentennial).

2 bullets &, the owner believes, a baseball bat came through windows at Heroes American Cafe (SW Park & Clay). He says he got a phone call from someone days ago, letting them know they’d be targeted at some point. The owner, a veteran, has photos of first responders on the walls.
