Apparently NHS Digital is the "national data guardian" now. Has anybody told the actual National Data Guardian? hsj.co.uk/7028653.article #covid19uk #NHSdata #datasharing
Hmm. Surely if an individual has been notified to self-isolate, that's health data? Either they've tested positive or some judgment has been made about their level of risk.

The #GeospatialCommission has published a list of 300 or so datasets it says are used during the housing and planning process, and highlights in particular a list of 50, "49 of which are covered by OGL".
gov.uk/government/pub… #Geo6 #ukhousing #geospatial #opendata (or not)

The GC's list includes some useful datasets, but also quite a few errors. The effect is to overstate the number of #opendata resources that are readily available for the purposes of housing and planning in the UK.

I'll just run through some of the licensing issues …

Two big announcements today from @GeospatialC:

● release of UPRNs/USRNs under OGL gov.uk/government/new…

● 10-year Public Sector Geospatial Agreement with OS gov.uk/government/new…

Good or bad news for #opendata and the UK's #geospatial strategy?

Let's have a look.

The "Open MasterMap" products and APIs mentioned in today's announcement will go live in summer 2020, so there's no #opendata you can download right away.

We don't yet have full specs either. For example OS is still validating its proposal for the Open USRN dataset.
