Time for a pulp countdown now, and today it's my top 10 funky flight attendant uniforms!

This thread may involve go-go boots... #SundayThoughts

At #10: Lufthansa! This uniform was styled on the condiment dispensers at Tempelhof Airport.

At #9: Caledonian Airlines! This look was later used in the film Heathers.

At #8: Southwest Airlines! Here we can see cabin crew explaining to the confused CEO which way the sky is.

At #7: Air France! A natty little knitted outfit that of course includes a beret.

At #6: El-Al! A brave choice putting your crew in uniforms they can't actually walk in.

At #5: Transair! Those mustard leprechauns of the sky.

At #4: United Airlines! A Mary Quant dress and a trucker's cap - what a pairing!

At #3: Banriff Airways! They do look like Batman TV series villains...

At #2: Alaska Airlines! "Ra-Ra-Rasputin."

And at #1: Hawaiian Airlines! Book 'em Danno!

Today in pulp... I look back at 1991: a simpler time of family values! #MondayMotivation

The World Wide Web was first opened up to the public in 1991 and we all became 'internauts'... though thankfully that name never caught on!

However 1991 also saw us worrying about 'computer viruses.' Could our Amiga ST be hacked by 'cyber punks'? Better not copy that floppy folks!

Let me introduce you to one of the most prolific pulp spies of the 1960s and '70s: Rod Damon - The Coxeman! #SundayMotivation

Rod Damon is both a super-spy and a Professor of Sociology, proving that academics can have a real world impact if they try.

He also spent three years in the military as an intelligence officer, before returning to civilian life to pursue his research in more depth.

Now we all know what a man's lounge suit is, but if we're honest it can be a bit... stuffy. Formal. Businesslike. Not what you'd wear 'in da club' as the young folks say.

So for many years tailors have been experimenting with less formal, but still upmarket gents attire. The sort of garb you could wear for both a high level business meeting AND for listening to the Moody Blues in an espresso bar. Something versatile.

Macrame is a way to make textiles by knotting - rather than weaving or knitting - yarn. It's very versatile! If you like owls...

It's also very old: the Babylonians and the Assyrians used the techniques to fringe their costumes.

Today in pulp: my top predictions for 2021! This is what the year ahead will bring us and I promise I will be less wrong than everyone else.

Yes I'm getting these in early because I'm so confident... #FridayFeeling

Prediction #1: facemasks will be connected to the Internet of Things in 2021!

They wont work - obviously - but some start-up will do it because it's a) obvious b) stupid and c) involves tech. People will still forget to wear them in shops...

Prediction #2: Scotland will launch it's own cryptocurrency in 2021!

Sort of. Some FinTech firm desperate for PR will try to jump on the independence bandwagon, offering Holyrood a 'new' currency based on blockchain and bullshit. They may also have a bridge they want to sell...
