A patriotic little bird whispered in my ear that apparently, power supply was almost cut off to @KenyaPower by a bulk supplier due to billions owed, & @StateHouseKenya had to intervene. Perhaps too that permanent & pensionable Management will be placed on contract

#SwitchOffKPLC
2. Still, @KenyaPower keeps opting for expensive electricity. Not to mention Sh150B stolen from itself. Watch your bills for fraudulent amounts & missing tokens. We are the last resort in KPLC's march towards default & insolvency.

NB: KPLC doesn't work alone.

#SwitchOffKPLC
3. I also understand that an extensive, formal complaint against [I can't say more] has been sent to @lawsocietykenya where I am listed as a witness. It is explosive & extremely detailed.

I am ready and willing to testify as required.

WaKenya: kaeni chonjo.

By June 2020, @kenyapower owed

-Sh23.7B to @KenGenKenya
-Sh19.48B to IPPs
-Sh4.67B to @KETRACO1

The electricity sector is a hotbed of theft. MES & #Covid19Millionaires look tame by comparison.

WaKenya could lose up to Sh6T!

2. Broadly, @KenyaPower owes Sh65B & anticipates Sh29.5B from consumers & the govt.

Q. How does a de facto monopoly FAIL to be profitable?

A.The trinity of generation+transmission+distribution/sale
is for the profit of a select, politically connected group.

#SwitchOffKPLC
3. Tariffs - under the corrupt & watchful eye of @EPRA_Ke - will remain high because parastatals & IPPs are OVERSUPPLYING electricity .

We pay for UNUSED electricity through rigged Power Purchase Agreements & yet more bleeding via the happily corrupt @KETRACO1.

Know that while you defend Mama Ngina's honour, she will always be able to afford private health care. Not your mother.

The 345pger is a white-collar-meets-murder crime scene. @MOH_Kenya @IKMAdvocates @generalelectric @Philips @AGOfficeKenya @Kenyajudiciary @KeTreasury

Eish!
2. Circa 2013-14, @MOH_Kenya envisioned a 7-10yr Public Private Partnership (PPP) to equip 94 Level 4 & 5 hospitals across 47 counties. This was approved on 22 Jan, 2014.

The PPP was ditched by June 2014 & an international Open Tender MOH/001/2014/2015 was launched.

#MAFyaHouse
3. As bids were submitted, the PPP under the Public Private Partnership Act, 2013 morphed into a Managed Equipment Service (MES) under the Public Procurement and Disposal Act, 2005 (repealed), now the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015. No justification.

The #Covid19Millionaires gravy train allegedly runs this way:

1. Pres. Uhuru Kenyatta & relatives
2. Murathe, Megascope & that motley crew
3. Governors & "their people"

These quick-to-absolve-myself-and-my-party are premature. What about their Governors & Legislators?

(thread)
2. Even as @USAID @GlobalFund threaten to withdraw / procure directly, they know that for 6yrs, they funded KEMSA to the tune of Sh23B p.a. @Deloitte won the contract from Supply Chain Management System (VA) to clean up the mess.

KEMSA is back in the hole.

#Covid19Millionaires
3. Same playbook @KenyaPower when Manitoba Hydro Mgmt spent $154M to clean up KPLC post-Gichuru.

The now PS Njoroge (UK's fundraiser) @EnergyMinK was thereafter appointed CEO; & theft resumed.

KPLC is back in the hole. We're paying for it.

So, friends. I have an update:

3rd #COVID19 test yesterday. 32 days since I quarantined/isolated at home.

Still tested positive. What? Surely. . .

My Physician reviewed my case & as per CDC guidelines, I can consider myself covid-free and released from isolation.

(thread)
2. Although not common, it isn't unheard of for people to continuously test positive for #COVID19. Esp those who were symptomatic. I seem to be one of them.

Perhaps I had a heavy viral load that is taking a while to clear from my system.

Symptoms are gone.

Just recovery.
4. My symptoms:

- fever/chills
- headaches
- pain in my legs and feet
- coughing (yaani!) & chest tightness
- breathlessness
- unsteadiness/crazy dreams/hallucinations
- loss of smell/taste
- EXTREME fatigue
- anxiety

The 1st 14-20 days were the hardest.

But no hospital.

Just to let you know that I tested positive for #COVID19 today despite all the usual precautions.

I am sharing this with you because we must fight stigma. Also, reading the stories & seeing the wider lack of govt preparedness, we really are on our own.

I will keep you posted.
2. I am exceedingly touched by the outpouring of support and love from all you. I can hardly believe it. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

It goes to show that we have the ability and the HUMANITY to carry one another through these difficult #COVID19 times.
3. I am NOT asymptomatic. I went into self-quarantine on 14 July (at home) when I realised that my symptoms were worsening:

-extreme fatigue
-bad headaches + off/on fever
-no sense of smell/taste
-red, sore eyes
-dry cough (developed later)

I kept hoping it was just a homa.

WaKenya: Senators Fatuma Dullo & Moses Wetangula - who refuse to engage us - are now hot on the heels of Joseph Ogachi of the single-sourced SPA Infosuv for having misled MAfya House.

the-star.co.ke/news/2020-03-0…

Obviously, Ogachi has a lot he could tell us but. . .

(thread)
2. Senators Dullo, Weta & Co. didn't raise a louder alarm about MES even when they saw that most of the equipment was not even in use!

the-star.co.ke/health/2019-11…

Counties are still forced to pay Sh200M/yr for maintenance of almost-no-value-for-money MES.

Safeguarding Devolution?
3. no way SPA Infosuv did not already have a brief from akina Macharia & Muraguri. These are the guys who should be questioned by the Senate Health Comm.

The Sh63B (an auspicious numbers, it seems - as this is the same figure for Arror & Kimwarer) was never meant for Wanjiku.
