Summary of Canadian Immigration steps via Express Entry and the Total Amount Involved.

All of you that I post scholarship opportunities.

However, for the sake of those asking about Express entry. Let me post what I learnt from these two links:

Canadian Immigration Steps.

1. Evaluate your certificate using agencies like WES, IQAS, ICAS etc. Start on time because it can take 1-2 yrs.

2.Prepare for IELTS general exam.

3. TEF or TCF exam (French version IELTS).
4. Use 1-3 to create express entry profile and then enter the express entry pool. You will get a score that the Canadian Govt works with.

5. Check your eligibility. If you are 40 and above, express entry may not be favourable except you have PhD and can speak French
with high band scores. Those people should check provincial nomination options.

6. If you are 19-29 with proof of funds, you can immigrate successfully without provincial nomination.
Total Amount Involved

A. Before you apply

1. Evaluation of credentials- 200-250 CAD, including shipping. For WES evaluation, it's 220 CAD. It takes a lot of time. Start with it while you are processing 2.

2. Transcript processing from your school... about 70k Naira.
3. General IELTS, about 75k Naira. Minimum band score is 7.0/9. You must have a good score, else you have to rewrite.

4. Proof of fund- Very important. It has to be in your account before you write the IELTS exam.
- For 1 person- 12,669 CAD
- For 2 persons- 15772 CAD
-For 3 persons-19390 CAD
- For 4 persons-23542 CAD
etc

B. After you are successful and invited

1. Application fee-550 CAD per person

2. Pay 750 CAD per adult. For each dependant child, it's 150 CAD.
Convert all of these into naira and tell me the total package for one person🤣

For a breakdown of these steps, please follow @FeyiMac and her YouTube channel. You will learn a lot.

A Reminder on Scholarship Application

Many of you have sent dms to me asking for scholarship info. Let me make some general statements about Scholarship Applications.

1. When you see people post success stories about scholarship and admissions, know that they have been through
many failures. One success is just enough to cancel I million failures. So, it's important that you ask them about their journey, more importantly about their failures.

2. Don't expect that you must be successful in every scholarship applications. O
Personally, my failures in this scholarship journey are more than the successes. Scholarship is not meant for the most intelligent. It is for the resilient, dogged and smart. So, be prepared to fail. That is the simple truth.

Demystifying Reference Letters

Reference letters and Statement of Purpose (SOP) are the two most important part of the Application processes.

Even if you have the best result in the world, if these two documents are not well written, your chances may be slim.
I explained SOP in my previous tweet, kindly see it.

Today, we will demystify reference letters.

You will be required to upload 2-3 reference letters written by people who know about your academic life.

The link can also be sent to them to upload with a specific deadline.
Now, the issue is, how do you get the best reference from a lecturer you are not even familiar with?

Some of us even don't tell our referees before using their emails.

Here are some tips:
