This week I had the chance to speak with a microbiologist who works for the #CDC in Atlanta. His lab has conducted over 1 million #COVID19 tests thus far. He shared some very interesting points with me that I thought I'd share:

They are predicting that Covid will naturally "burn itself out" by early Summer 2021. This is natural and this expectation is based on if "we weren't taking any precautions at all."

2. There aren't any natural mutations of #COVID19 that are a threat to the population and none are expected as this "extremely rare."

3. The CDC is "concerned" about rates of unknown numbers of false negative and false positive #COVID19 test results and won't know for some time what true case numbers are, "if ever."

4. The only truly reliable #COVID19 test is a genetic test. The CDC conducts these but they take time... about 24 hrs for results.

5. He would not take the 1st or 2nd iteration of any #COVID19 vaccine and would probably wait at least a year after a vaccine comes out before inoculation but based on his knowledge, a vaccine by that time would be "pretty pointless."

6. CDC workers are "frustrated and tired of the #MainstreamMedia over hype of the virus" and it has been "detrimental to day to day operations." He stopped watching the news "a long time ago" because the "misinformation passes him off."

7.  There is a "growing number of scientists at the CDC who believe that safety measures like masks, are "detrimental to the long game." They "helped at peak of the virus outbreak" but "extended use has likely prolonged the problem and stifled natural immunity."

8. He and "everyone in his lab" cannot wait for this "stupid election" to be over.

"Current #COVID19 testing methods that generate results in a few days are doing great. This has nothing to do with politics, it's pure science. The #JoeBiden plan of rapid testing that gets results in a few minutes is a bad idea and will lead to bad results."

10. There are "lots of new companies cropping up looking to make money with #COVID19 tests that are bad. Faster is not better. It's way worse."
